Hi I'm Maddie

I enjoy spending my time outdoors. I love candy, my family, and my friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attended Utah State University for the past two years where I began my degree as a Health Educator. I recently was called to serve as a missionary in the Illinois Chicago West mission and I am so excited to be an instrument in the hands of the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

As many other Mormons, I was born in to the church, having my parents and grandparents already members. Each day I continue in the path of these great examples by being an example to others. The gospel of Jesus Christ brings me so much happiness and joy. I know my purpose in this life. I know that God has a plan for me and as I am obedient to His commandments, I know that my life will be blessed.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example to others around me. I attend church each week and strive to fulfill my church callings. I also provide service to others around me. Service is such a big part of the LDS church and I live being a part of it.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Maddie
Joseph Smith was born in 1805 to Joseph and Lucy Mack Smith. His parents taught him to pray, read the Bible and encouraged him to attend church. Joseph Smith was confused about religion and wanted to know which church to join. One day while reading in the Bible he was told that any who lacked wisdom should ask God. He sincerely prayed to recieve and answer and at the age of 14 God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ appeared to him. Over the next few years, Joseph Smith began recieving heavenly messengers who prepared him to restore the Church of Jeses Christ to the earth. He was called to be the prophet and established the church in the Americas. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Maddie
God has given us bodies while we are on the earth. He has also given us a law of health to help keep our bodies safe and healthy. This law is know as the Word of Wisdom and ws given to the Prophet Joseph Smith through a revelation found in Doctrine and Covenants 89. In addition to emphasis on proper eating and physical and spiritual health, God has spoken against the use of: -Tobacco -Alcohol -Coffee and tea -Illegal drugs God promises blessings to those who observe the Word of Wisdom.
