Hi I'm Abby

LDS. Child of Record. Young Women medallion holder. Going on a mission to Philippines Quezon City Mission soon!

About Me

I graduated from a prestigious University here in the Philippines with the course, BS Biology Major in Cell Biology. I am very blessed with a diligent character towards my studies. This became my weapon against my struggles and persistence in achieving my academic goals in school. Coupled with my strong faith in Heavenly Father and my diligence in obeying in His commandments, most especially, the word of wisdom, following the standards established by the Church and maintaining a 100% attendance in my Institute class, I am proud that I graduated on time. Being a good example is the most important thing for me. Everyday, I strive to follow the standards established by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. As I study the gospel principles, I pray always that I may able to live with it and apply everything that I've learned. My greatest desire is to become like our Savior, Jesus Christ. My interests include fashion, watching movies, reading the scriptures, cleaning and cooking :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized in my hometown Tagum City, Davao del Norte, Philippines when I was 8 years old and become a Mormon ever since. But, I did not grew up in the Church because my family was less active. When I was 14 years old, my mom went abroad and my whole family moved in the house beside my father's grandparents. Our relatives were also residing close to us. They were active members of the church. They were persistent in inviting me and my siblings every Sunday to go to Church. But it was when a year after, during summer time, that we responded politely with their invitation and started going to Church. I personally liked the feeling of going to Church every Sunday. After a few months, I was qualified to join the Manila Youth Temple Trip, having attended my seminary class regularly. I grabbed the wonderful opportunity and was able to do baptismal ordinances for the dead in the temple. It was then that I gained my strong testimony about the divinity of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I felt their extraordinary and infinite love for me and I also felt happiness and peace, being able to enter the House of the Lord. My faith was increased and decided at a very young age of 15 years old, I would never leave the Church and made the commitment to strive to gain more testimony and increase my faith line upon line, precept upon precept. It was also during that time that my siblings suddenly become so hardened that they got offended and did not choose the path I've chosen. I got depressed but still comforted because I know the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I started to live from that time on to have faith and hope that someday, our family will be sealed through time and for all eternity even if the current situation did not seem to be directed towards that goal. Until now, I am doing my best to become a good example to my family. Conversion is a process and I'm willing to assist my family to undergo such process :)

How I live my faith

I become active when I was in the young women organization in our ward. After receiving the young womanhood recognition award when I was 18 years old, I was called as the Young Women Activity Chairwoman. After a year, I was released and called as Young Women Secretary. I love my calling. I learned to become even more responsible, become understanding to young women, to assist them with love and concern. Most importantly, I have learned to become a good example to them :) I was also called and currently serving as a ward missionary whereby I can help assist the missionaries in their work, by teaching the gospel with them and sending them referrals. I have also learned a lot from them and they also contribute in making me a better prepared full-time missionary soon! I made reading the scriptures twice daily a habit now. I am also working out my personal progress again for the second time.
