Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in Hawaii. I have a passion for traveling and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent college graduate. I am the second youngest of 6 children and I am the only one who isn't married. It's tough, but I love being the favorite aunty of my 8 nieces and nephews. I have a passion for traveling. I have been to Japan, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Russia, and most recently Italy, but I still have a lot of other places to see! I love meeting new people and I love experiencing other cultures first hand. I'm a big family person, nothing brings me more joy than knowing that I get to spend eternity with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have prayed about it, and I was able to receive my answer from God, for myself that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true! I was raised in a home where my family was all practicing Mormons. I attended my church activities and went through the motion of being a Mormon because that's what I knew to be true and right. I also attended a private school that was an hour away from where my house was, so I could see the lives that others were living and realized that I had something they didn't have. So I prayed. I wanted to know if what I was doing was out of blind obedience to what my parents were saying, or if I was doing it because it was helping me. So I did my part, I put in the effort. I read the Book of Mormon on my free time. I prayed to Heavenly Father to help me to find my answer. I attended my church meetings with the right mind so that Heavenly Father would bless me. And each time I attended church and did these other things, I would have a good feeling. I would feel that what I was doing was right and from Heavenly Father, so I continued to do the things I'm doing now. And that is how I gained my testimony. I didn't come all at once, it came a little bit at a time. But now it has grown, and there is no way that I can deny my testimony! I know that The Church of Jesus Christ is true!

How I live my faith

I love attending my church meetings. While away at college, I attended a ward of single young adults that ranged from ages 18-30. It was an amazing experience because we were able to have a lot of fun together without having to have alcohol or anything like that. We were able to learn from each other and spend time with each other. Interacting with people my age helped me to realize that although I had my own types of struggles, I was a part of a group of singles who were experiencing the same things as me. And together, we were able to overcome our struggles and help each other. It was an awesome experience. I live my faith by attending my church activities and also inviting others to attend as well.
