Hi I'm Jessica Smith

I love getting to know people, playing racquetball, and apples. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old and I attend Brigham Young University in Utah. I'm studying to become a math teacher because I hope to help others love math just as much as I do. I love to play racquetball and will play anytime day or night. I was adopted by my grandparents who have raised me since I was 14 months old. My grandfather passed away in 2007 so it's just me, my grandma and my little sister. We have so much fun together and I love them with all my heart. They are my best friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I had the opportunity to learn about the church with my grandfather when I was just 8 years old. Though I did not understand everything the missionaries said at such a young age, I did understand how happy it made my family. Since then, life has not been easy but it has been more than worthwhile. Because of this church, I feel like I have a purpose in life, and a Father in Heaven who loves me. I have never felt more joy than when I hear about the Savior's life and all those who contributed to form His church. I know with all my heart that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he dedicated his life so that this church could be organized on this earth today through God. I also know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and that it is the word of God, another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is through Him, Jesus Christ, that I can be saved from sin and I owe Him everything for that. Finally, I know this church is true without a doubt because I have prayed and felt the answer within my heart and it is something that I simply cannot deny.

How I live my faith

I have recently been called to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Omaha, Nebraska. I have never been so excited to tell others about the church and Jesus Christ whom I love. Besides my grandma and little sister, none of my family are members of the church so I do my best to answer any questions they have and just be an example of my faith.
