Hi I'm Colin

I grew up in Utah. I love the gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew in a small town in Utah. During high school I was involved in sports and other activities. I was part of the Student Council at my school, sang in a community choir, participated in several musicals, played football, soccer, and wrestled. I learned the determination to never give up and always work towards your goals as I played sports and competed. Many times we would try our hardest to succeed and win but the outcome never was what we thought it should be. I am an Eagle Scout and excelled in scouting. I was the Senior Patrol Leader over a National Youth Leadership Camp and I'm now serving a full time mission.

Why I am a Mormon

For four generations members of my family have been members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was baptized when I was eight as most young people who have grown up in the church do. At that time in my life I felt joy after getting baptized but I still didn't truly know if the Book of Mormon was true or that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. It wasn't until I was a Freshman in high school when I began taking seminary when i discovered why my ancestors for many generations had continued to be members of the church. One day in seminary my seminary brother asked us to right down our testimony of the Gospel? Is the Church really true?" These two questions and others ran through my head and I pondered this for a couple of days. On the second or third day of pondering i was reading in the Book of Mormon and came across a scripture in First Nephi Chapter ten verse nineteen. I read the scripture over and over and finally did as it says. I opened up my heart to the Lord and asked if the Book of Mormon was true.and a few short minutes later I received an answer. I felt such a burning sensation within my bosom that The Book of Mormon is true, It is another testament of Jesus Christ and it's truthfulness provides counsel for us to be able to live with God the Father and Jesus Christ again. I know with all my heart that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the one and only true church upon the earth. Joseph Smith was and is a prophet and Thomas S. Monson is a Prophet today. He receives direction from Heavenly Father on how to hasten the work and to spread the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel and have progressed and learned more as I continued to be faithful. Setting goals for myself is what helps me better progress and as I fulfill my goals I fill good about the things I've accomplished. Reading scriptures, saying my prayers, and attending church are just a few ways I live my faith and also gain faith. As I trust in the Lord with all my heart, he directs me in the trials that come upon me. Proverbs 3:5-6.
