Hi I'm Saxon Moroni Petersen

I am Mormon becouse of service. Christ set up his church so we can have support and success in this life and the life to come.

About Me

I love the outdoors. Camping, hiking, swimming and kyaking are my favorite. I have the best family and whatever means spending time with them. I'm in! Getting to know people and making connections is my way of life. This is a gospel of relationships.

Why I am a Mormon

Becouse Gods truth, the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints has been restored to the earth. I love God and I want to be appart of his church.

How I live my faith

I live by noticing Gods hand in my life. Little evidences of his love are all around. I want to help others notice these too.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Saxon Moroni Petersen
I love part in the Joseph Smith movie when, in chains and captive by mobsters, he stands in rebuke to the awfull speech that filled the room and says "Great is the worth of every soul in the eyes of God!" I know this is true. Every person that is or ever was, is a child of God. Those who do not believe that we should think God to have body of flesh and bone becouse it demeanse or lessens the divinity of God, do not understand our eternal potential. If all of this is true then we will understand why God has commanded us to care for our bodies and spirits. Doctrine and Covenents 89 gives the Word of Wisdom. A law or commandment established by revelation in these latter, or modern days. It is well worth studying and reviewing. What message is more joyful? This is our gospel: You are a child of God! Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Saxon Moroni Petersen
Many prophets made records of their dealings with God and the history, rising and falls, of different nations. The last prophet that writes in the Book of Mormon is named Moroni (my middle name to remind me of his diligence). Moroni witnesses the fall of his people, the Nephites, and buries the Gold plates he ascribed the history on to, trusting that God would reveal them in his wisdom. When the world was ready to receive Gods truth, or the Gospel of Jesus Christ, God again called a prophet to find and translate these gold plates. His name is Joseph Smith Jr. He was prophesied to restore the gospel, or God's truth to the earth again. Show more Show less

What is the First Vision?

Saxon Moroni Petersen
After a long period of apostasy, or drought of spiritual truth, reformers such as Martin Luther wanted to get back to the basic truths that Christ taught. These reformers efforts led to religious freedom, but they did not claim to be prophets or called of God. Many religious parties contending of whom was correct in debate of different interpretations of the Bible. With out prophetic foundation or general organization of Christs gospel, individuals had to rely on mans interpretation instead of Gods inspired truth. Joseph Smith in search of truth came across a bible verse: James 1:5. Inspired to ask God where to find the truth, he went to a grove of trees to kneel and ask Heavenly Father which of all the religions was right. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in their glorified exalted form appeared to Joseph Smith and commanded him to join non of the organizations. This is the first vision. He was instructed by angelic ministers to find the gold plates of which the Book of Mormon was translated from. He was also given the Aaronic Priesthood by John the Baptist as an angelic minister. Peter, James and John conferred upon him the Melchizedek Priesthood. Joseph Smith Jr. by calling and preparation became the prophet to restore the gospel in the modern dispensation.
