Hi I'm Madison

I'm a college student. I love serving others. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. I recently returned from serving as a full-time missionary in the Washington Kennewick mission. I love missionary work! I am currently a college student at a local university hoping to pursue an education in either accounting or teaching. I love music and you can usually find me either singing or listening to music. I love spending time outdoors, hiking, sports, spending time with friends and family, meeting new people, and trying new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy! I know God loves us so much that He gave His Son Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for us so that we can become clean from our sins and mistakes. When we exercise faith in Him, repent, are baptized, receive the Holy Ghost, and continue striving each day to live his commandments and do as He asks, we are completely cleansed from our sins. Not only are we cleansed from sin, but this process allows us to change and be transformed into more of what God intends for us to be. There is no way we can be perfect in this life, by ourselves, but through Christ and His sacrifice, we become perfect in Him as we have faith in Him and live His gospel. He truly is the Savior and Redeemer of the World. He lives, and because of Him, all will live again! I am Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and, as it says in the introduction, read, pondered, and prayed to know if that book is true. I have received a witness from the Spirit and testify the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It provides the second witness of our Savior Jesus Christ and is the evidence we have a living prophet, someone with the authority to act in God's name, to guide us. There are so many different voices in the world telling us what is right and wrong. God doesn't want us to be confused. He wants us to find peace and clarity. Through the words of the prophet and 12 living apostles, we receive revelation from God for our time. I know that God answers each of our prayers and wants us to find out for ourselves if the Book of Mormon is true and if Christ's church has been brought back on the earth in its fullness. I know that it has, and that has brought me so much comfort and peace in my life.

How I live my faith

One way I live my faith is serving others. I have loved the experience of serving in various ways in my community. Service has been something I have been taught in me from a young age from both parents and church leaders, and it has now become one of my passions! I love the feeling I get when I know I have helped one of God's children in even a small way. As it says in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon, when we serve others, we are serving God. Christ was and is the perfect example of love and service. In both accounts of the Bible and the Book of Mormon, we learn that Christ always turned outward and never once thought of Himself. He is the perfect example of complete selflessness and charity, something I hope one day to be like. Another way I have been able to live my faith is I was called to serve in the temple shortly after I returned home from my mission. The temple is such a sacred, holy place where we make covenants, or promises, with God. Families are also sealed for not only time, but for all eternity in the temple. Through faithfulness to the covenants we make, beginning with the covenant of baptism,we receive so many incredible blessings from God in our lives. I feel so much peace as I attend the house of the Lord and feel His Spirit there.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes. Families can be together forever! The most important social unit in this life can be found in the family. The greatest source of happiness can be found in the relationships we have with our families. Through sacred ordinances performed in temples, we believe that family relationships extend beyond death when they are sealed together in the temple. I love my family SO much, and it brings me so much comfort and joy that we can be together forever by living the gospel. I also look forward to the day when I will be able to marry and have a family of my own and live with them forever by being sealed in the temple. Show more Show less
