Hi I'm Amanda Sanabria

I grew up on Long Island, New York. I am a student at Brigham Young University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There are some very important things to know about me. First, I absolutely adore marching bands (drumline in particular). I love music of all kinds. If I am ever feeling down you can just play or sing me a song and I'll be happy again! I think old people are the most precious living things and I thoroughly enjoy spending time with them. I am the middle child of 5 kids. My family has to be the funniest group of people I know. Spending time with them is a favorite pastime. They are just superb! I love reading and I like to pretend that I can cook like a professional. I really enjoy nature and outdoor activities if I can be safe from creepy-crawlies. I love to sing and when I can't sing, I whistle. I also really enjoy playing soccer. I think kids are great and I love arts and crafts.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother converted to the Mormon Church when she was in her early twenties. Since then, she has raised our family in the gospel and taught us the principles of it. I continue to follow The Savior's gospel because of the testimony I have gained from exercising faith. I know from personal experience and the experience of others that life is happier when you live it with The Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have felt the difference it makes to live the teachings of Jesus Christ and I am always amazed at the joy it brings to my life when I obey even the small commandments. It feels good! That is why I'm a mormon.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? Each day I wake up and say a prayer to my Father in Heaven. I strive to remember to do the same each night. I set goals to improve my character and love for others. The gospel of Jesus Christ is more than just a religion. It is a lifestyle. For example, I was so excited to get to bed tonight because I showered and brushed my teeth earlier than normal. Hygeine ✔️ BUT... I didn't do my "spiritual cleansing" yet. IE. Night time prayer, scripture study and journaling (not that daily journaling is required in the church, I just like to do it). It was fun to flash back to childhood analogies of being clean. Just as important as it is to brush our teeth daily, it's even more important to make sure we study, pray and take care of our spiritual well-being so we're able to live each day "after the manner of happiness" as God has shown to us. Doing this leads us to become like God and to be shown ways we can serve others each day. Doing these things keeps us happy, truly happy. Doing these things keeps us clean (and you could say, "feeling minty fresh").
