Hi I'm Linda

I love spending time with my friends and family. I love music, playing games, and learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family where learning was just what we did--we loved to learn and then share what we had learned with each other. I gained a true love of learning from my mother and I am so grateful for her wonderful example--it has changed my life and really made me who I am. I'm a self-proclaimed nerd, and I love it. There is nothing like the feeling that comes as I learn and it just inspires me to want to learn more. I love learning about a large variety of things--history, nature, art, music, people and how they interact, and so much more. It blows my mind how the MORE I learn the more I find there IS to learn! I am a family centered person. Many of my interests are a direct result of the experiences and things my family enjoys. I like the outdoors--camping, hiking, taking pictures, going to the lake, and spending time with my family. I love music and literature. I love to sing and tinker around on the piano. I love reading books and discovering new things in each new book. I love that my family spends a lot of time together. We play games and talk. We have family meals. We do our best to support each other and help each other. We do a lot with our extended family, especially visiting with our grandparents. I can't imagine who I would be without my family in my life--they have truly made me who I am!

Why I am a Mormon

Although my family has been a part of this church for generations, I had to come to know this church was true for myself. I'm Mormon for a lot of reasons. Some of them are a direct result of the blessings that I have seen from living this Gospel--peace, happiness and joy with my family. We know who we are as children of our Heavenly Father and how we can truly take advantage of the Atonement to have the greatest happiness here and joy for eternity after this life with our family and our Father in Heaven. I have seen the blessings that come from obedience to Christ's teachings in the Bible and the Book of Mormon and I know of Heavenly Father's love for me. The biggest reason that I am a Mormon is that I have studied it out and prayed about it. I have felt the confirming feelings from the Spirit that this is true. Even better, everything that I learn and experience as I study the scriptures everyday just continues to confirm what I have learned: that Jesus is my Savior; God is my loving Heavenly Father, and He wants me to have His truths so He has provided the perfect way that I can receive those truths--through the scriptures and through modern revelation, our prophets and other leaders, and through the workings of the Holy Ghost which gives me answers to my prayers. I know that the Atonement and the Holy Ghost are two of the greatest gifts that God has given us and I know that this Church is Christ's Church on the earth today through the power of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I believe that the most important theme in our church is charity, or love for everyone. This means loving your family, friends, neighbors, roommates...everyone you see. I try to show my love for others in many ways: I write notes, visit neighbors, help with projects, and do my best to fill other's lives with joy. Sometimes this means going out of my way to be creative and make people laugh, but making other people happy helps me feel happy and I know that I have done the right thing. I love surprising people and seeing their smiles is the best feeling ever. I love to go to the temple. At the temple we can feel the love of our Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ. We can do service for others and we can feel peace, love and hope no matter how crazy life gets. I love going to the temple and try to go as often as I can. :) Right now I am serving a mission, to Knoxville, Tennessee. I am so excited for this opportunity to share the things I love with others and to help them feel the love and happiness I feel everyday. I know that we can feel the love of our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ everyday.
