Hi I'm Alex Johnson

I am a Mormon. I am Scottish. I love the Lord.

About Me

I live in Central Scotland. I am married and father of eight children. I currently work as a Learning Resource Assistant and also as a Technician covering, Sound Production, Media (Radio, Video). My hobbies are Photography, family history,Karate and forensic science. I also hold a Radio Amateur licence.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother and father along with my brother were converts to the church in 1963 when I was 7 years old. I read stories about Joseph Smith and the visitation of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to him. Although I knew this to be true I didn’t join the church till I was 23 years old and it has made a difference in my life. I know that Jesus Christ is our Saviour and that he did in reality die for us and was risen again to give us the hope of a brighter future. The Book of Mormon is true and stands together with the Holy Bible to witness to both the Jew and the Gentile that Jesus is the Christ. To have as constant companion, the Holy Ghost is a great benefit to our lives. He will testify of truth, prompt you in dangerous situations and offer help in so many different ways.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the Saviour’s example. Daily prayer and study of the scriptures is a key to having a happy life and being able to feel the effects of the Saviour’s atonement in my life. As a family we attend church on Sunday to renew our covenants by partaking of the sacrament in remembrance of the atonement, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. I live my faith by keeping the commandments and by honouring the Holy Priesthood which I hold in service to others including those not of my faith. I have served in Branch Presidencies, Bishoprics, High Councils and a variety of different callings within the church. It is wonderful to serve the Lord and by so doing bless the lives of other people.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Alex Johnson
Tithing is used to build and maintain the meetinghouses that are used to worship the Lord. It is also used to construct run and maintain the Temples throughout the world. It is used to publish the teaching materials of the church. It funds the missionary programs of the church. It is used for the administration of the church. Show more Show less
