Hi I'm Benjamin Gardner

I grew up in Utah and am going on a mission to the Harare Zimbabwe Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of those typical teenagers. I like to hang out with my friends, go to movies, and do all sorts of things with my various friends. I love to go boating in the summer. Another activity I like to do is go rock climbing. I don't know if it is the thrill of the fact you are high in the air and the risk that comes with it, or just the pure adrenaline that keeps me doing it. I have attended high school and upon exiting, I have also received an Associates degree. I have long been anticipating going on a mission and now that it is finally here, I can't believe I am actually going.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this gospel fills my life. I don't know where I would be without it. I have found redemption through my Savior Jesus Christ and have felt the power that he can give to you through the repentance process. I have had some rough times in my life and the church has always been there for me to try and help me through whatever it is. I am so glad that I was born into being a Mormon. Without this, I feel like I would be lost and not knowing what was going to happen to me next. That is one of the great gifts of being a Mormon, is that you know where you are going. And along with that, you know where you have been. The Plan of Salvation truly gives me hope for the things to come and gives me some sort of guidance to show which direction my life needs to be headed in. Being a Mormon has also made me feel such comfort and peace that is indescribable. There are times in my life that I wish never happened, but they did and that's how life goes. But you can feel peace, no matter what those times are and how bad they were. God will always be there for you, and that is one of the truths I can testify to you. God loves you no matter what you do, that's one of the benefits of being his children. So all in all, that is why I am a Mormon. It gives me purpose, comfort, happiness, and knowledge about this life and the life to come.

How I live my faith

Throughout my years being a Mormon, I have been very concentrated on doing my duty to my church. I have gone to church as much as physically possible and have enjoyed much of it. I have also enjoyed my time as a home teacher. Ever since I turned the age of 14, I have had the opportunity to go and teach families in my ward about the truths of the gospel. It has really strengthened my testimony seeing how much of an impact I have had on some of these people. I have also had various opportunities to serve those around me. I have participated in every service project I could, whether it be making blankets, making a trail in the forest, donating blood, anything that came up I could help with. And through service, I have found myself truly living out the gospel, and finding true happiness in my life that only service could bring.
