Hi I'm Dallin

I love the Lord, I'm passionate about basketball, I have a wonderful family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graduating high school student, and I recently received a call to serve in the Durban, South Africa Mission. I am thrilled at the opportunity to serve. My hobbies include basketball, hanging out with friends, and reading. I am an Eagle Scout. After my mission, I plan to attend the University of Oklahoma to study pharmacy, and become a hard-working pharmacist.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Savior Jesus Christ. His Atonement is the most powerful act of mercy and love ever to be performed. I love everything about His church, and I appreciate the family values central to the Lord's plan. I also love to share what I know and believe, and this church gives me many opportunities to do so.

How I live my faith

I am the Priest Quorum 1st Advisor in the Duncan Ward. I report to the Bishop and my Young Men's leaders. My responsibilities include watching over the Ward Family, blessing and administering the sacrament, and helping the younger boys learn scouts and quorum responsibilities. Mostly, I try to be a light to those around me, especially because I live in the "Bible Belt" of the United States, where members are few, but member prospects are many.

What is being a Mormon like?

Dallin
Being a Mormon is tough. It is not easy to stand for righteous things in a wicked world. Every day is an uphill battle, but the view from the top of the hill is glorious. No other way of living makes me happier. I know the Lord watches over me in my struggles and trials, and I know He blesses me for my efforts. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Dallin
Absolutely. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we are given the opportunity to come closer to Jesus Christ every time we kneel down to pray or open our scriptures. Jesus Christ is the head of the Church. He always has been and He always will be. We love Jesus Christ with all of our hearts, and we know that if it weren't for His atoning sacrifice, we'd be lost children of our Heavenly Father. I love my Savior Jesus Christ, and I strive to be like Him. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Dallin
The Book of Mormon is a second testament of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is written by prophets, just like the Bible. The Book of Mormon clears up many misunderstandings or confusing passages in the Bible. Along with the Bible, the Book of Mormon teaches of how our Heavenly Father wants us to live, and provides the necessary requirements we need to accomplish to return to live with God again. What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Dallin
A testimony is a solemn witness of an individual's beliefs and knowledge. As we grow in the gospel as members of the Church, our testimony grows too. Here is an example of my testimony: I know Jesus is my Savior, and that He atoned for my sins. Through His atonement, I can be made whole and become like Him, which will lead to me returning to the Lord's Kingdom. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that through Him, Christ's gospel and priesthood was restored on this Earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's prophet on the Earth today. I know the Bible and Book of Mormon to be the Word of God. I know the power of prayer. It is a direct connection between us and our Heavenly Father, and if we use it properly, we can receive Heavenly insight and direction. I love the Lord and this Gospel. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Show more Show less
