Hi I'm Mikayla

I've lived all over the United States. I'm a geologist and I love backpacking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have three younger siblings who are all my best friends. I love to bake, garden, sew, fly fish, backpack, read, travel, and I love photography. I grew up in northern Pennsylvania; and, I am currently a student at Utah State University majoring in Geology... but I really just want to be a mom. I am constantly amazed by God's creations and the miracles around us. I served a mission in Bacolod Philippines, and I am now married to the love of my life. I have learned that there is always a reason to be happy... this life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be! I am happy, I am hopeful, I am blessed, I feel the Lord's presence in my life, I know who I am, why I am here, and where I am going. God answers my prayers, teaches me what is right, fulfills his promises to me, and strengthens me when I need help. I have a prophet of God to follow, I know how to receive personal revelation, I am healthy, and I get to help build the kingdom of God here on the earth... I am a Mormon because I believe that God sent his Son to this earth to save us, that we are all God's children, our families can be together forever, and Christ will come again! I don't need all of the answers, and I don't need societies approval. When I live the gospel of Jesus Christ, my life is better.

How I live my faith

To me, living my faith means being willing to change! I am very good at being stubborn and prideful. I like to think that I am capable of doing everything right, my way, without any help or without being told what to do... I have learned the most, seen the most miracles, felt more love, been most useful, and grown closer to my Savior when I have listened and done "it" the Lord's way! I live my faith when I have faith in Christ, and when I change myself to become more like Him.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the single most important event that ever happened. It was the sacrifice required to meet the demands of justice and provide a way for mankind to return to the presence of God. We are eternally indebted to our Heavenly Father and we look to Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. Because of the selfless act of true love showed to us by Christ, we can be forgiven of every mistake, cleansed from every sin and look forward with faith and hope, knowing that we can reach our full potential and receive even all that the Father hath.
