Hi I'm Ashlee Harmon

I grew up in Utah. I am going to Physical Therapy school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. I was the oldest in my family with a little brother and sister. I grew up in the LDS church. When I was young I had multiple intensive surgeries which brought along many trials as I was growing up. Looking back I realize how blessed I was and how miraculous it is that I am still living and walking today. Modern medicine has improved so much but I also realized that most of the miracles that have happened in my life have been God's doing. My interests include rock climbing, running, dancing, singing, guitar, and more recently scuba diving. I went to college and got my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science. After I graduated I applied and was accepted to Physical Therapy school which I had been working towards for many years. I hope to give back to other patients the kind of care that I received and somehow make their life a little better. During physical therapy school I married my wonderful husband who is exactly the person I need in my life in every way. I love my family they have blessed and influenced my life in more ways than they know, I love my husband, and I love the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but I strayed away from it in my teens because of social issues. I eventually started going back because of the influence of a great friend of mine but my heart was still not in it. When I started college I decided to make up my mind as to whether or not I wanted to continue to pursue the teachings of this church. I prayed about it and went forth with faith as to what I should do. I decided to continue going and when I put my heart into learning the teachings of the gospel and coming closer to Christ my entire life was noticeably better. I was so much happier and it made all of the problems in my life seem so much smaller. As I have continued to learn more about this gospel and had personal experiences that have brought me closer to God I have realized how true this church is. I know that it took a lot of faith and time for me to feel so strongly about this church but it is because of how close I feel to Christ and how happy I feel that has brought me to the conclusion that I can't live without it. I believe that this life is all about progression we progress from school to work, we are children and progress to adulthood, we become better people and learn from our mistakes. This gospel is all about progression which is a great testimony to me of its truthfulness. It is about progressing to become better people in this world, becoming more like Christ so that we can be together with our loved ones after death. I know that this church is true and that there is a living prophet on the earth today. I know that as I have lived this gospel and continue to pray and attend church I have never been happier and I know it is because I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying and reading the Old Testament, New Testament, and Book of Mormon daily. The impact that this has had on my life is great and I know that it has brought me great blessings because it has brought me closer to the Lord. I also live my faith by trying daily to improve myself by looking for opportunities to serve others. Service can make such a difference in anyones life whether it is a big favor to a friend or stranger or just a nice smile or hello. I also live my faith by attending church each week and participating and learning in class. I have devoted my time to preparing and teaching lessons in church to help myself and others learn more about the gospel and how to become more Christ like. I give my time to visit other women who go to church to make sure they are doing well and to serve them if needed. I have also helped with different youth and charity projects like going to feed the homeless. I live my faith by putting effort into spending time with my husband and my family. This church is based on family and love. I have found that, out of everything else in my life, my family is the most important and no matter what I do I always want to be with them and to love them. I love this gospel for teaching me all the principles about the family that it has and the knowledge and comfort it brings to me to know that I can be with my family again after this life.
