Hi I'm Marquez Ensey

I grew up around the United States and Europe. I am preparing to serve in the Mexico Hermosillo Mission and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Marquez and I am from Salem Oregon, but I have moved around due to the fact that my father is currently in the military. I have lived all across the United States, but also Europe. I speak English and German almost fluently. I am preparing to serve a mission in the Mexico Hermosillo mission in the Provo MTC now. Besides the church, sports are my passion. I love futbal/soccer the most but I enjoy wrestling, basketball, track, and cross country. I enjoy playing any sport, but those are some of my favorite. I am the third oldest child in my family and have 5 other siblings. I just graduated high school and plan to attend college after my mission but I am not 100% sure where as of right now.

Why I am a Mormon

Throughout my life as a young adult, I have never found joy that comes from being a Moron anywhere else. Scoring a goal in soccer, winning a match in wrestling, or placing in a track meet can never come close to the feeling I feel when feel the spirit from being active in my faith. I have prayed and asked God if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is indeed true and I can honestly stand up and say that I know my prayer was answered. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church on the face of the earth today. The Prophet Joseph Smith being a young man prayed in the sacred grove and did in fact see God the Father and his Beloved Son Jesus Christ. The Prophet Joseph restored the true church on the Earth again and did so through the direction of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Furthermore, Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon from the plates through the power of God. The Book of Mormon is indeed testifies of Jesus Christ and is another testament to our Lord and Savior. The Book of Mormon is the one book that can bring a person closer to our Heavenly Father as they reads it and applies the principles to their own lives and live them correctly. The Prophet today, namely Thomas S. Monson, has been called of God just as Joseph Smith and continues to lead the church through the same manner under the direction of Heavenly Father and Christ. I am Mormon because I received my witness and cannot deny the truths that I have been taught.

How I live my faith

In my ward I live my faith through participating in missionary opportunities. Whenever the chance arises, I go out with the missionaries and serve or teach investigators, members, and less active members. I participate in lessons, teach lessons, and even contact people with the missionaries. I also visit families to fulfill my duty as a home teacher. Being a home teacher means that me and another brother are set over to visit and take care of families within our ward. We visit each family each month and make sure that we help them live the church standards. Lastly, I make my faith known to those I come in contact with through telling my friends, but also wearing a CTR ring. It attracts attention and allows me to explain the phrase "Choose The Right."

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Marquez Ensey
I know there is a God who loves us through the small instances that happen which forever change our lives. I think back to the first time I loved to North Carolina and had to restart my life. I had no friends and my family was busy becoming used to the area as well. I remember crying to my mother and telling her that I needed someone to relate to and that I just wanted a real friend. Her instructions to simply pray and ask my Heavenly Father would change my life. I prayed and asked only one time and left it alone. Not long after my prayer, I met one of my best friends and formed a bond that has lasted through the last 4-6 years. I know there is a God because no one other than my mother knew that I need a friend and my friends parents had never met before, but yet he crossed into my life and changed me. Today we still talk although we are half a continent away. Little moments such as these let me know there is a God that loves me. Show more Show less
