Hi I'm Jeff

I was raised by foster parents in a small southern city. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoyed playing sports, playing softball, basketball and lifting weights. I loved to dance, especially shagging. I was one of 5 Mormons in my high school. I began working part time jobs and my interests turned to remodeling and construction jobs. I served one year in Vietnam in the Central Highlands. After returning home from Vietnam I started working in construction. I met my wife when I was working construction at the hospital where she was a nursing student. We married in 1970. We had 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls who have now blessed us with 7 grandchildren. As our children were growing up I went to night school and received my BS degree in Sociology. I left construction work for sales opportunities to help take better care of our family. The Mid Western Company I just retired from in October last year, was a big boost to my career. I set a record sales for the company and had many opportunities to travel with my wife on great trips. Prior to retiring I remodeled our home for retirement after which we made a decision to move to a different state to be closer to family and closer to a church temple as well as a VA center. We enjoy making trips to California where one of our daughters and her family lives. We also enjoy visiting our son and his family on the east coast. We have had many trials in our life including financial, rebellious teens and a daughter who has a mental disability. We have relied on the Lord to help us through the difficult times which He did!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because not only do I believe in Christ, I Believe Christ when He says in the book of James 1:5, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him." I applied this scripture and know I received an answer that the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is the restored gospel. I have had many spiritual experiences which helps me to know that the Lord's hands are in His Church..

How I live my faith

As a 16 year old I applied the Book of Mormon challenge in Moroni 10:4 which says " And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, The Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if these things are not true; And if ye shall ask with a sincere heart , with real intent, having faith in Christ, He will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost." As a young teen I began to study the Bible and the Book of Mormon extensively and prayed to know of the truthfulness of these books. I received an answer that these books are the Word of God and they both testify of Jesus Christ, the only Begotten of God the Father. He is our Savior and Redeemer and our only Advocate with our Heavenly Father. When I was 19 years old I served a mission for our church for 2 years in the Northwest. After my mission and Vietnam I met my wife who at the time was not a Mormon. She became my greatest convert. She was baptized 1 week after we got married. As a teen I worked in the youth programs of the church. As an adult I served as a stake missionary, on the high council , counselor in the stake presidency for 11 years, and as a Bishop. I have been serving as a temple worker in our temple district for the last few years. I have spent my life serving in the church along with my wife of 43 years and enjoy the happiness and peace the restored Gospel has brought to our lives. It answers the age old questions......where did we come from, why are we here and where are we going? Through the plan of Salvation we know the answers to these questions. We are united in our belief through our temple sealing and know we will be an eternal family.
