Hi I'm Curtis

I grew up in southern Arizona. I work in the mining industry. I love racing cars and being with my family. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I've had the privilege of working on every continent except Antarctica, worked in more than 20 countries and 20 different states. I love experiencing different cultures around the world and the united states. I love attending church in the different regions and the sweet spirit the saints bring around the world. Through work I have invented control systems for automated mining equipment and in my off time I enjoy racing stock cars on our local dirt tracks on Saturday nights. My wife and I are the parents of four boys and one little girl whom we adopted from Ethiopia. We love our family and our time together.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion story started years before I chose to be baptized. Although I had repeatedly chosen to turn my back on the missionaries, examples of believing saints continued to be present in my life. From childhood friends to neighbors who unselfishly served me and my family those examples slowly softened my heart until the time came where our oldest son began to ask questions I could not answer. The Lord had his eye on us as around that same period a couple young men started coming by the house requesting o share the restored gospel with us. At first I declined but one day we simply decided to attend church with a neighbor. We found perfect peace in that congregation as we listened to members share their testimonies of the restored gospel. We decided to allow the missionaries to teach our family. As I listened to the teachings and spent the next YEAR reading the Book of Mormon I knew the lessons they taught were true, the Holy Ghost testified of it to my soul. There were a great many things that I would have to give up as a member and I was reluctant to do so, however after many nights in solemn prayer I knew I had heard the truth, I knew that Heavenly Father knew tat I had heard the truth and I knew that if I did not act upon this knowledge I was placing my soul in jeopardy. This knowledge allowed me to overcome my fear, knowledge became hope and hope became faith. My family and I were baptized in December of 2008, we were sealed for time and all eternity in 2009 and little Izzy joined us in 2010. I am a mormon because I know I am a child of a loving Heavenly Father. I know my savior Jesus Christ lives. I know the Book of Mormon is revealed for the betterment of his children. I have experienced miracles. I have seen the love in my family increase dramatically. I am a mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ and this is His church on earth.

How I live my faith

I am happy to serve in any capacity I can in our church. Currently I work with the young men and Boy Scouts program. In my travels I am frequently asked to serve in various ways in the smaller congregations. I love the or grams the church offers all the members and I love to serve those programs in every way I can. Each month my oldest son ad I visit three families in our area and try to bring the spirit into that home by serving those families. It's an excellent opportunity or he and I to grow in our faith together and I have seen true miracles happen through this inspired program, I am humbled to be asked to be a part of it. Being a mormon doesn't end Sunday afternoon, we endeavor to live our religion; not so easily done in today's world.
