Hi I'm Becca

Im from Great Falls Virginia, and now go to school in Provo Utah. I Love my Church and I am a Mormon

About Me

Starting July 31st 2013, i will be serving a mission in Rancho Cucamonga, California. I will be the Second Transfer of missionaries to be serving in this new mission and couldn't be more excited.

Why I am a Mormon

People think that i am a member of this church because I was raised that way, and that i am a member because I've never known anything else, but i have had my own personal conversion to this gospel. This gospel isn't something that I've always believed, but through my own struggles and through diligent prayer i have come to know that this gospel is God and Jesus Christ's full gospel, and that we can receive more blessing through it then through any other church. One of the blessings i have found in this church is it's focus on the Family and the belief that families can be together forever. That alone is enough to love the church, but there is so much more. Through this church i have gained a knowledge of my saviors love for me individually and that through Jesus Christ i can be forgiven for any and all of my short comings. That knowledge is something that i would never give up. I love this gospel and i can't imagine where i would be with out it and the blessings it brings. To learn more about the church and the blessings it can bring into your life, visit the church at Mormon.org, or contact your local missionaries at http://mormon.org/missionaries.

How I live my faith

I will be serving a mission in California in July!

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

First, talk to the missionaries! As you learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ, you may experience feelings of peace, comfort, or happiness. Some have expressed that they feel a familiarity with the truths they are being taught and feel as though they are coming home. You are feeling the influence of the Holy Ghost telling you that what you are learning is true. If you have a desire to follow Christ’s teachings and obey His commandments, you are first encouraged to participate in a series of discussions that will introduce you to basic principles of His gospel. Then, when you are ready, you can become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by receiving the ordinance of baptism by immersion for the remission of sins by one having authority who after the baptism lays their hands upon your head, confirms you a member of the Church and then pronounces a blessing upon you that you may receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (see Acts 8:18-20). What is the Book of Mormon?

Many people think that we don't use the bible or that the LDS church has its own Bible, but that's not true. We have the Bible AND the Book of Mormon, which is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon was written by the people in the Americas at the same time as the Bible. We believe that God loves all of his children equally and that he reached out to the people in the Americas the same way he did in Jerusalem, and these people recorded their dealings with God the same way the prophets in the Bible did. The book contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, testifying of His Atonement and His love. The Book of Mormon also talks about Christ appearing to the people in the Americas after He ascended back to his father, after his resurrection. While there He established his church there just like he did for the people in the Bible. The Book of Mormon concludes with a great promise that those who read it and sincerely pray about it can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true (Moroni 10:4). I know that i have done this and received an answer for myself that the Book of Mormon truly was inspired by God, and i know that anyone who prays looking for the same answers will receive it.
