Hi I'm Sarah

I am a special needs teacher, wife, aunt, and lover of all things chocolate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I studied child development in college and later became interested in teaching kids with special needs when my nephew was diagnoised with Autism. Since then I have been a nanny for a severely autistic toddler and have taught kids with special needs in elementary and middle schools. There is no other way to describe what I do other than to say I love it. It is privilege to work every day with such awesome kids! In my free time I enjoy swimming, hiking, and traveling with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had several experiences in my life where I have felt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only completely true church on the earth today. I have attended worship services of other faiths and although each church was filled with wonderful people who were doing their best to follow God, I sensed that there were parts of their doctrine didn't seem quite right and other doctrines that seemed to be missing altogether. I know that the Mormon church is lead by true, latter-day prophets who speak the will of God just as the prophets from the Bible did.

How I live my faith

I help to plan monthly activities for the adult women in our congregation to meet together and learn how to, essentially, become better women. Some of the activities we plan are focused on learning new practical skills (such as budgeting, sewing, gardening) and other activities are focused on giving service in homes and in and the community. It is a goal at all of the activities to help each women in our congregation become a better follower of Jesus Christ.
