Hi I'm Mikayla McChesney

I am the oldest of 5 children. I am obsessed with country music. I love to play the guitar. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a 19 year old college student with plans of becoming a Speech Pathologist. Growing up with four younger brothers, I knew I always wanted to study something where I could be surrounded by kids. I have watched more baseball and football games than most 19 year old girls, and could probably recite all sports terms thanks to my brothers. I love reading, but wish I had more time for it, I love all movies, and I'm a sucker for my moms brownies. I have now taken a break from my schooling to serve a mission in Argentina for 18 months. I am loving every minute of my mission and am honored to have this experience!

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. Yet, I am not a Mormon because I was born into the church. I am a Mormon because I personally know this is the true church. When I was old enough to understand, I began praying. By conversing with the Lord numerous times through prayer I have received the answer that this is the true church. I can testify that the Lord hears and answers each and every prayer. He knows me and knows each of you. He is there to help you through each trial; He has helped me through mine. If you have not yet gained the assurance that this is the true church I encourage you to pray to our Father, He will answer you. I know I can draw closer to my Father in heaven through prayer and He will always be there to listen. That is why I am a Mormon, because I have received the answer that the Church and its gospel is true. I am a Mormon because it brings me happiness in a world where there is none. I am a Mormon because it has always felt right. I am a Mormon because I know I can become better through the gospel. I am a Mormon because ultimately I love and want to follow my Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I ultimately live my faith by how I act. I am a firm believer in the phrase "actions speak louder than words". I love to serve my neighbors with any opportunity I get. The feelings I get after I have helped somebody does not compare to any other feeling. I believe service is the best way to express my love for my Savior. I also had the opportunity to be in charge of my ward's sports activities. I loved being able to see the big picture and watch members come together and bond outside of church.
