Hi I'm Naomi Fletcher

I grew up in Ashton. I am a Student. I come from a family of 12. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Naomi, I am 17 years old, I am a student studying English Language, Psychology and Health and Social Care. I want to study Social Work as a degree when I go to university because I want to help others who maybe don't always get the best of what life can provide. I come from a large family of 12, 6 sisters and 5 brothers. Family is a huge part of my life, not only because of the number of people in it, because I someday want to have a family of my own who I can love and care for. My brothers and sisters mean a lot to me. I am lucky enough to have quite a close relationship with my brothers and sisters, we do try to get on most of the time, but that doesn't always work out how we want! I have been in a relationship for just over a year. I don't see my boyfriend as often as I would like because of his job, which can be very challenging at times. Yet we work through it together :) I am a happy person and like to see other people happy and smiling along with me, I always try to make others smile with the smile I have on my face and if that doesn't work then I am a good crier too! I LOVE quotes. One of my favourite quotes is 'Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.' Quotes really do help me to be happy, sounds a bit sad I know, but there's always a quote for everything. I have quotes posted up all around my room, making me smile as I go about my day. I play the piano as a hobby and have recently passed my grade 3 piano exam.

Why I am a Mormon

Church has made my life much happier, because I know things that wouldn't have known without the gospel. I know that families can be together forever and I know God has a plan for each of us. These things bring me so much comfort and peace because I know living has a purpose and I know I have a purpose. The gospel has taught me a lot of things about myself, about who I am and why I'm important. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and I know that I am his daughter. I also know that I'm not always going to be perfect because if I were to be perfect I would no longer need to be on this Earth. I know that we we were sent to Earth to learn and that bit of knowledge makes me want to know more, makes me want to read the scripture and pray to my Heavenly Father to find out more, because without Him I would not know. I love my Saviour Jesus Christ. He gave up His life, so that I could live. What greater knowledge could you hold? To know that a loving, caring, Heavenly Father would send down His son to die and to atone for each and every sin and then die so that we may live. Knowing that I was loved so much, to have a Saviour come down to Earth for me and for Him to die for me just over powers me. I know that my Saviour loves me and that He cares and without Him there would be no way back to our Heavenly Father. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am the assistant ward music director. This calling is what it says on the tin really. I assist in some areas of music within the ward, I help choose hymns for the choir to sing, I attend meetings to organize fun events surrounding music as music is a wonderful gift. Having a musical ability myself helps me appreciate the time and effort put into playing an instrument and it also allows me to feel uplifted when I listen to music and possibly appreciate it more. I am in young women's so obviously spend a lot of time with youth, because I am one myself. I love being in young women's because I have some many friends who I can talk to and the young women are not all my age, I am 17 and consider 11/12 year old girls to be my friends. I would happily spend time with each of the young women on their own. Being in the youth programme has allowed me to build my confidence and become who I am today. I know exactly who I am and that'e never going to change. I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. I love knowing that it brings so much comfort to me knowing that I will always have Him to turn to and I will always have Him as my friend. I have made many friends in youth, through various activities put on for us. I have however made one best friend who I can rely on for anything. Without conventions and dances I would not have become as close to my friend as I have. I have been out with the missionaries speaking to people on the street, (yup, you may have stopped and turned the other way when you saw me coming) I had so much fun teaching with the Sister missionaries because I learnt a lot about myself not just others.
