Hi I'm Spencer

I was born in Phoenix, AZ. I'm a Dental Officer stationed in Japan with my wife and kids. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my wife of 8 years, and four rambunctious kids, ages 1-7 years old. I enjoy reading biographies and history and recently finished a profile of Jimmy Stewart and his service during WWII. Music is a passion of mine. Although I played various instruments in high school, I began singing in my fourth year and have been doing so ever since. In college, I minored in music. Two of the best years of my life were spent as a LDS missionary in Argentina. Since then I have kept up my Spanish at school, work, and home.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important thing to me. I think about the great blessings I have, my family, my wife and children. Everything that is good in my life is significant because of what Jesus has done for us. As a teenager I prayed and read the scriptures. As I did so, they came alive to me. They helped shape who I wanted to be and taught me of God's love. As a missionary, I felt so happy as people we taught came closer to God and to their families. As a parent, I feel God's help as I pray and ask how to best teach my children. He answers my prayers. I hope they too will love God, not because of what I have said, but because of what they have seen from my life.

How I live my faith

I spend a lot of time with the LDS missionaries in our city. They come regularly to our home for dinner and afterwards we pay visits to families sharing gospel messages, finding ways we can help them. On some Sundays I teach a class to those who recently started coming to church or who are returning after not coming for a while. I enjoy preparing and sharing these lessons and learning together by the Holy Ghost. I feel that God, like any loving parent is involved in the details of our lives. He wants us to succeed. He wants us to understand that there is a plan and purpose to our lives.
