Hi I'm Ellen

I was born in the USSR. I've traveled the world to pursue my dreams and share my beliefs. I love my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Prior to coming to the United States for education, I lived in different European countries among various nationalities and languages. I love people from all over the world and find it interesting to learn new languages and cultures. Most of my friends are from other countries. I graduated from Brigham Young University-Hawaii in 2012 and got married two weeks after my graduation. I love being a wife. I try to develop my talents and find new hobbies. I love learning and creating new things. I enjoy the beauty of nature and take any opportunity to go on road trips, hikes, and historical sites.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When I was a little girl I always believed in God and in His Son, Jesus Christ. Although knowing about Christ and his gospel from the Bible, I often found myself searching for more; I had questions that no one could answer. I lived my life trying to be good and keep my faith in the Savior; I knew He was watching over me. When I turned 14 years old, I realized that my life was lacking something important: the light, the truth, the meaning...the knowledge of the purpose of life. Soon after I turned 15, I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and my entire life changed. I found the answers to all my questions and felt the love of my Father in Heaven more than I ever had. I know who I am -- a child of God. I'm here on this Earth to learn and follow the example of my Savior, to use His atonement to come closer to God and prepare myself to be with my God and Jesus Christ after this life. Knowing the purpose of life by learning about the Plan of salvation gives a new meaning to this mortal existence; it brings happiness and joy to know that God is aware of me and that he loves me and knows me personally. As a child and a teenager I attended different churches here and there; however, I didn't feel right. After learning about the restoration of Christ's church on the Earth through the prophet Joseph Smith, I thanked my Heavenly Father for letting me find the truth in my teenage years. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the fullness of the gospel, and I have a strong testimony of it. We have a modern-day prophet and the apostles on the Earth again! They receive revelation for God's children around the world. I'm a Mormon because I want to belong to Christ's true church and receive all the blessings that God has to offer me.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and believe it is the best way to live my life. To be kind and help others sincerely is how I can show God that I live my faith. I volunteer at an elementary school helping children to improve their reading skills. I also teach children in the church; it brings joy and satisfaction to serve them and be an example, as well as learning from their example. I think that the children are the closest to God and I love being around them. I served as a full-time missionary for the church. I was called to share the gospel in The Netherlands, speaking Dutch. I'm always ready to testify and share my faith.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Ellen
The Mormon temples are used to bring families together, seal them together forever so that they are not only together in this mortal life but also after death, spiritually reunited. Show more Show less
