Hi I'm Brandon

I grew up in Arizona. I love science and history. I'm serving a mission in the Oregon Salem Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have completed high school, and during my years there, I performed in many a theatre production, including but not limited to: Romeo and Juliet, Odd Couple, Get Smart, Inherit the Wind, and To Kill a Mockingbird. I am what you could call a Geek, I am a big fan of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Magic the Gathering. I have yet to attend college, but I may go to one after my mission in Salem Oregon. I have been told that I have a wonderful sense of humor, and I have also been told that i have a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor, I don't know which one is a bigger compliment.

Why I am a Mormon

The reasons why I am a Mormon are many, but one of the most important reasons is the promise of an eternal family. Knowing that I will be able to be with my beloved family for the rest of eternity is a wonderful blessing and comfort, namely because I had a sister pass away in 2010 due to a birth defect, CHD, where the heart doesn't function properly. She had a stroke that made it so she could only function on the level of a seven-year-old. Throughout my life, my sister was always there for me, first as an older sister to look up to, and later in life as a younger sibling for me to be an example for. She was always happy, even when she was in pain or when she needed to have surgery. Though she couldn't understand much, she always knew 2 things: That our family loves her, and that we will be together forever. She taught me lessons in forgiveness, love, and humility that I hope to be able to pass on to others. She was a wonderful inspiration for me, and she continues to be one to this very day.

How I live my faith

I am currently called to serve in the Salem Oregon Mission, where I am glad to serve and spread the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ. I care not who they are, what they believe, where they came from, or who they claim to be; I will do all that I can to serve people. Scripture study and prayer are essential for faithful living; without them no one can know of the truth. I am a firm believer in that principle.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Of course not. "The Mormon Church has donated more than $1 billion in cash and material assistance to 167 different countries in need of humanitarian aid since it started keeping track in 1985. Many of these countries have few to no Mormons, but are also non-Christian." Throughout my own personal life, I have strived to help those in need of help, comfort those who stand in need of comfort, and mourn with those that mourn. Despite one's own religion, I will do all that I can to help ease their own burden. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Think of how you regard your own children. Think of how much you care about them and how much you want them to be happy. God feels the same way about you, but multiplied by an infinite amount. No matter how you slice it, God has always loved mankind. He has called prophets since the beginning, so that they can reveal the Gospel. He created the universe and all the things that dwell in it for our benefit and our enjoyment. He has a body of flesh and bone, but that is glorified and perfected in every way imaginable.. and then some. I know that he wants you to know about him. As stated above, he loves you and wants you to be happy. I strongly urge you to speak with him. Trust me, he'll give you a response. Show more Show less
