Hi I'm Christin

I'm a farmer from Utah, an adventurer; and I'm a Latter Day Saint.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in Georgia!! The South is where the Lord is truly hastening His work, and I am so blessed to be here. The most incredible thing about this work is that we're not teaching these people something new... we're just fanning the flames of truth that they've known for eons. I absolutely love traveling, and taking in the beauty of nature and different people and cultures. I like to explore the outdoors and participate in any type of sports activity. Neon things draw me in like a magnet. I can sit with a good book and read well into the night. My favorite time spent though, is with friends and getting to know new people.

Why I am a Mormon

Like us all, I yearn to be happy. This church has brought to me a happiness that can never be topped, and I'm thankful for it each and every day. It has given me a greater appreciation for the world and people around me. It has given me peace throughout hardships, and I never feel alone because I understand just how much my Father in Heaven loves me and wants the best for me :) This church has allowed me to realize that I can be with my family forever. My favorite part of this church is seeing the light within everyone grow as people see their potential through Christ's eyes.

How I live my faith

The biggest way I'm living my faith currently, is by sharing it with everyone 24/7. As a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have the opportunity to not only live the gospel, but to help others live it as well. I try to provide service to members of my community, whether member or non-member. It not only helps that person, but allows me to be less selfish and more grateful.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Christin
The Atonement is such a beautiful thing. Really, without it, there is no way we could be saved. So the good news is, with it, all of us may be saved if we choose to use it!! Christ willingly suffered for our sins (physical, emotional, spiritual). There is no one who cannot even start now to use this sacrifice. (Remember, you are not your sins; they are just dirt on a pure soul. Using water alone cannot wash it all off. Christ's sacrifice is the soap needed to purify and cleanse you back.) To make the Atonement fully effective, we need to have faith, repent, be baptized and confirmed, receive the Holy Ghost, obey the commandments, receive sacred ordinances, and strive to become like Him. Then we can return to live with Him forever. Don't get overwhelmed; He will help you every step of the way :) Show more Show less
