Hi I'm Sister Quintana

I was born in Mexico, raised in Houston, Texas. My parents converted when I was little. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I enjoy time with my family and friends, especially if sports are involved. I love music and I love to dance! If there is music I will be there. I want to have an education to support my self and become independent. Going to college was not always my plan. I actually didn't have a plan and didn't know exactly what to do with my life so I turned to God. I prayed for His guidance and to let me know what I should do and He answered my prayer. I am going to college to become a Pediatric Nurse. I want to eventually become a Pediatrician.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this gospel but I have not always exactly been obedient and strong in the church. I rebelled and was inactive when my family and I moved from where I was raised to a small town in the middle of no where 1,000 miles away. When we moved and went to the church there everyone was so cold and not very friendly so I stopped going to church altogether. As I continued to be inactive we moved once again to another town 2 hours away and decided to try to go back to church there. As soon as I stepped in to church, I felt at home once again. A feeling I had not felt in such a long time. Every single person was so friendly and welcoming, how could I not feel at home! I went back to church but was still a little rebellious until one day I decided to read the entire Book of Mormon. It took be a while but when I finished reading I got down on my knees and decided to pray to God and ask if this book was true and that if this gospel was truly the correct gospel. As I was praying I heard a voice tell me no!! The voice was coming from behind me and I became very scared and would not dare open my eyes! I started asking for peace in my heart and comfort because I was terrified. I soon felt a warmth in me and a peace that is beyond explainable. It felt as if God himself had come down to give be a hug me as if I was a baby in need of love and comforting. It was the best feeling! I also knew that day, that the Book of Mormon is true and that the prophets named in this book were righteous men called of God. I know that there is a God who loves us and wants the absolute best for each and every one of us. I have read it in the scriptures as well as seen it in my life. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called closest to our time to translate the Book of Mormon so that every nation, kindred, and tongue could know of the things of the Lord. I love this gospel. I am truly blessed every day of my life through being obedient to the Lord's commandments and through great faith.

How I live my faith

Even though I am not perfect, I try to live my life like Christ would live his life. I help others in anyway I can. Volunteering in fundraisers and food collections or in any events in my community is my favorite. My family and I have been in situations that have not been easy and I know how hard it is to start from zero several times so I try to give back. I love others as I love my family. I engulf my self in the gospel of Christ and pray regularly to my Father in Heaven. I have a calling in the church as a Primary Counselor, which is a teacher for kids from ages 3 to 12. I learn more from those kids than I have my whole life. I love them very much and I am very grateful the Lord has trusted me enough to teach the future generations about this wonderful gospel that has blessed my life so much.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Sister Quintana
A husband and a wife CAN be together forever. Not just for our time living here but even after death. Families can be together forever through a special power of God called the Priesthood. It's like a special permission to act upon the name of Him, Christ, and perform things such as having a family be sealed for ever. I know without a doubt that I want this for my family and I and that thanks to the priesthood that worthy men of our church hold I will always be with my family. Show more Show less
