Hi I'm Branden

I am an enthusiastic runner, musician and worker. I am a Missionary. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 18 year old High School Graduate with an enormous and loving family in whom I love to spend time with as well as friends. I live on a farm which has shaped me to be a fervent advocate of hard-work and service. I love to read all sorts of literature, write, and go to school and participate in my studies as well as extra-curricular activities such as 4H, sports, clubs, and Mutual. I am an athletic person with running as my passion! I love the outdoors and everything it has to offer me. Music has been an instrument for learning, growing and applying what I see and hear to my everyday life...it brings a spirit to me and my soul in which I can find peace. My siblings and I are all blessed to be adopted to a loving mother and father and in this great, influential gospel. I am serving as a missionary for the LDS Church in the Cape Verde Praia Portuguese Mission; and I am very excited, and also very nervous! I know that it will be through the Spirit of the Lord and the Love of Christ that the people of Cape Verde will be able to see the restored gospel at its fullest. Through the companionship of the Holy Spirit, I know that I can at least try to be an effective missionary and share the simple joys of the Gospel with other people.

Why I am a Mormon

I was adopted when I was only days old to my two wonderful parents who have made me who I am now. My mom has always told me of how her "tummy was broken" and that I was placed in her arms as her firstborn for a very special reason that is still a mysterious blessing. Occasionally I wonder what my other life could have been like with my birth parents - Atheist? Catholic? Or just different from how it is right now... Where would I be right now? Would I know what I was doing? Would I know my purpose? Questions like these are always brought up to mind. However, knowing that there is a religion that has been fully restored with a Prophet, Apostles, and the Priesthood here on Earth gives me great comfort and assurance of the truth and of my purpose. Many times I have felt the Spirit come to me and give me reassurance that my Savior is forgiving and loving and reassuring in everything that I do. I can put my faith and trust in Him and let him make my burdens light, and follow him. Being adopted and sealed in the temple to an eternal family has made my faith increase all the more in that my Heavenly Father does have a special plan for me. I may not know it yet, but I will continue in putting all that I have in to fulfilling my promises to Him and obeying his commandments till the end. I love my Lord and Savior, I love and sustain our Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, and know that he leads this church in modern revelation, and say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to lead and magnify my calling both inside and outside of church. I try to be an example that everyone can look upon and sprout their own seed of faith off of. I love being involved in my community and commiting to charity and community service whether it is on my own, with my youth group, or in my school with events such as donation drives, fundraisers, etc. By doing these things I put myself in a position that will allow me to be able to share the gospel with others and show them my standards in hopes that they will learn to also love Christ. I strive to help anyone and everyone as it is my duty and promise to help others who can't help themselves at all times. School gives me thousands of opportunities to exercise my faith and standards as the world pursues the people around me in comforming to societies' lack of modesty and privacy. I hope to be a simple, yet significant role in helping others.
