Hi I'm Katie

I have lived in Utah all my life. I'm a sophomore in college. I am the fourth of five girls in my family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have played the piano and soccer since I was four years old. I love heat and being outdoors. Singing solos in public and heights are my biggest fears. Although I am shy of singing solos, I do love singing in choirs! I was on a track and cross country team in high school, setting new school records. I started the varsity soccer team as a freshman in high school. I ran my first half marathon my freshman year of college. I was a Student Body Officer my senior year of high school. I am terrible at sewing and decent with cooking. I am a huge fan of music and love going to country concerts. I have done two years of college to become a high school history teacher and also hope to coach soccer for the school. People and their stories really fascinate me. I have had the same best friends since I was in second grade but seem to make friends with lots of different people. I have been the front desk secretary for my college's admissions office for two years now. My favorite Disney princess when I was little was Pocahontas; not the typical princess, I know. I have green eyes, but absolutely love blue eyes. I am known to smile a lot... and I have to agree! I love to smile! :)

Why I am a Mormon

Every question that I have encountered has been answered through faith, study and prayer. There are still many things that I may not necessarily have a testimony of yet, but it doesn't mean that I don't believe that they are true. I believe that this life is to work on fully being converted to the Lord, but being converted doesn't mean that you will know all things at once. I am a Mormon because my faith in the gospel has strengthened immensely from the answers I have received. I put my faith to the test by reading the Book of Mormon and praying to know if its words are true. When I finished and asked God for an answer, I had the strongest, most unavoidable feeling of joy and love run deep into my soul. I am a Mormon because I have gained an unwavering faith in the power of the Atonement. I have made many mistakes in my life but have felt the peace, love and comfort that comes when you turn to Christ for help from a remissions of your sins or simply to know that someone knows that anguish, sadness and loneliness you may be feeling. I am a Mormon because I have felt Christ's love that He has for me personally. I have studied the words of the New Testament and have gained a better understanding of who He really is, which has deepened my love for Him in return. I have come to know that His word is unchangeable and will always be the same. It makes my life richer, my love for life deeper and my faith stronger that Jesus Christ truly lives. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The gospel is a huge part of my life and has given me strength countless times. I am currently serving a mission in Orlando and absolutely love it. I have come to know my Savior more than I ever have as I serve my brothers and sisters. This past year, I taught gospel lessons for one of the three hours of Church and absolutely loved it! I have been apart of Church leadership positions over other youth my age. I was called to the ward choir pianist for two years. I have also had a small calling of just handing out hymn books during church and learned that even the smallest callings and acts of service brighten your day! I was called to be a girl's camp leader last year and had the pleasure to take them hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing and repelling. I have been a visiting teacher for two years now and have loved visiting with other women in my ward and help serve them.
