Hi I'm Kirsty Wouden

I am a Civil Engineer, a Sister, an Aunt, a Daughter, a Beach Lover, and a Swimmer. I'm A Mormon...

About Me

I recently got married in the Newport beach Temple to the man of my dreams! I graduated from Brigham Young University with my Masters and Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. I was fortunate to swim for the Brigham Young University Cougars where we won four Mountain West Conference Championships. I currently work as a Civil Engineer in Southern California but am living in Utah at the time while my husband finishes school. I love to go to the Beach and surf, wakeboard, boat, exercise, and be with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know with every fiber of my being that it is true. I have had to many spiritual experiences and tender moments to not know what I believe. I know that our Father in Heaven gave his only Begotten son, Jesus Christ, to come to this world and show us the path to return to our Father in Heaven. To be the example that we must follow in all things. I know that Christ suffered on the cross in Gethsemane for me, so that I can repent of the sins that I have made. I know that Christ is risen from the dead and is our living brother. I know that at the tender age of 14 the Prophet Joseph Smith wrestled with a question of what church was true and went into a grove of trees and prayed and received a witness from our Father in Heaven. I know that through the Holy Ghost Joseph Smith was able to translate the Book of Mormon as another Testament of Jesus Christ. I know that we are sent here on this earth to be tested and tried and to keep on the strait and narrow path the best we can. I know that our Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers, if we come to him with questions or concerns he will listen and send his angels to guide us in our lives. I know that we can receive personal revelation through the power of the Holy Ghost that each of us has to help comfort us in our times of need. I am so grateful that I have the knowledge of the restored gospel in my life to know that My family and I can be sealed for time and eternity and that we will be together in the life to come. I know that the temple is the house of the Lord where we can go to worship and make sacred covenants with our Lord and to be sealed to our eternal companion forever. I know that we have living Prophets to teach and guide us on this earth. That through them and communication to our Lord we can pave a path to return to our Father in Heaven. I Know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and know I am today because of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an example and live those principles that I am taught. I have participated and organized community service projects. I teach lessons in church to my peers and have group discussions about our principles and how our lives have been changed. Having grown up on a competitive athletic team with not many members of my faith, I learned that the best way to show others what I believe is to live it. As the saying goes I try to "Practice what I Preach", and be a worthy daughter of our father in heaven. I know that by living the standards that I believe i can not only make the world a better place but hopefully bring others around me to Christ and our Father in Heaven. I want to be the best that I can so that I can return to live with my family and Father in Heaven again.
