Hi I'm Sheridan

I am a music lover. I am a student. I am a Missionary. I am a daughter of God, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I find joy in the small things in life. I'm very easily entertained and love to be with my family and friends just spending time together. I am a military brat so I grew up everywhere, and nowhere at the same time. I have lived in Japan, Mississippi, New Mexico, Alaska, Nevada, Texas, and Hawaii. I love playing the ukulele, singing, reading, and writing. I was a student for a year at Southern Virginia University and am now serving a full-time mission in Boise, Idaho!(= I plan on returning to SVU after my mission and majoring in English, and I hope to one day become a journalist/editor. When I was 3 years old I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and have dealt with this disease throughout my childhood. I'm grateful for this trial in my life and the huge role it has played in helping me developing my personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. The challenges I have faced with Arthritis have only proven to make me stronger and increase my faith.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know by keeping the commandments I can remain happy and safe. I know that the commandments are for our safety, not meant to restrict us. I believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and that Joseph Smith was a true and living prophet who translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God. I believe that this gospel contains the fullness of the truth and if we live it we can experience a level of joy and happiness unmatched by worldly desires or pleasures. I believe that Heavenly Father has a plan for us and by being faithful we can return to live with him again one day. I know without a doubt that this life is not the only one, but is a testing period for us to show that we can remain faithful to our Heavenly Father. We will all face trials and challenges in our lives, but they are there to strengthen us and help our faith to grow. One of the things I love about the LDS church is the great focus on service. We are here to serve and help one another, to uplift and strengthen each other, so we all can return to live with our Heavenly Father. I am so thankful for the temple and the love of my Heavenly Father I feel there. I truly believe the temple is the Lord's house on this earth and we should all strive to remain worthy to enter the temple to enjoy the sacred blessings we can receive there. I have seen the gospel bless many lives, including my own, and I have also seen how choosing to not live the gospel brings only sorrow and misery.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day by living what I know to be true. There is so much I don't know, and so much I don't understand, but I do know that there is a God, and that he loves us. I know we have a Savior, who understands and has felt everything we will ever experience. I know that I am a daughter of God, and that we all are spirit sons and daughters of a loving Father in Heaven. I love serving others and seeing the joy that this gospel can bring into the lives of others! I know that there is no greater joy we can find in this life than when we are helping our fellow brothers and sisters!(:
