Hi I'm John

I come from 2 parents that were both converts to the church. I am a born and raised Texan. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love science in certain fields. I love astronomy, and volcanoes. My family does have a music background. I can play a little piano, but I have mostly been singing in choirs at school and church just about all my life. In September of this year I will be a dad for the first time. A little boy. Though it may be tough and scary I know the Lord will help me through it. I will have an associates degree in science this semester. After this, I don't know what I am going to do.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I have been raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I still am a Mormon, I still believe in its teachings. I have stayed away from what I need to do, but I can testify that the fullness of the gospel has been restored. I have learned things, that are clearer now than ever, and I can share them with others. I am Mormon, because I need to be. I was not brainwashed or forced to be a Mormon. I am Mormon, because I have taken the steps to receive a divine witness that these things are true. If you have a witness like that, after studying and praying with a sincere heart, then nothing else matters. I have had others try and convince me other wise, but I am still friends with them. I had a missionary companion once tell me, "One thing that no one can't take away, is your TESTIMONY." I have remembered that quote for about 4 years now almost. My testimony is simple: We are all Gods children and he wants us to grow. He know whats best for us. He knows us each individually. God has given us the tools to return safely to him. If we follow his prophet and listen to what he says, we will not stray away from his path. God is always reaching out his hand, it is up to us to reach out and grab his, and he will guide us. The Book of Mormon is true as a second witness. It was prepared for these Latter days. The gospel has been restored by Joseph Smith. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is real. It has worked for me and it can and will for you. My name is John, and I am a Mormon

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith to the best of my ability. However, when the opportunity arises to share about the gospel, I am not ashamed to tell. I have done alot of service inside and out of the church. I have helped with relief for Hurricane Katrina hit. I was in a community taking trees and brush off of houses, and it was astonishing to see the whole community come out and see what we were doing for them. We didn't have to come, but we did. The community had joy in their hearts and eyes. They even asked us if we could come back the next day. As far as community service goes, I try and help neighbors move, even other church members move when I can. Giving service is probably the best example that I can think of in living my faith. As I try and be an example of Christ on earth, Jesus Christ did the same thing here not just for me, but to the WORLD. My work schedule is crazy, just because of hours and working till late, but where ever I am, or where ever I go, I will try my best to serve those around me in anyway that I can.
