Hi I'm Brandon Somsen

I'm from Sugar City, Idaho...where sweet things grow. LOVE MY FAMILY TO BITS. Aspire to live a life without any regrets.

About Me

I am currently living in beautiful Sydney, Australia, and I am loving it more and more everyday! To kick this thing off... I was born in Powell, Wyoming, the youngest of three older brothers (the BEST three older BROTHAS a kid could ask for). When I was around four years old my family and I moved to the metropolis city of Sugar City, Idaho...population: maybe 1500 (on a good day). Since I was born I am pretty sure that I have had some sort of a ball in my hand. Whether it was a soccer ball, basketball, baseball, tennis ball, football, etc... it didn't matter to me! I love sports and love to get out and to just be active. If you ever go on some sort of sporting excursion don’t forget to invite me! I LOVE to be around people and to hear heaps of different kinds of people tell stories of their life, passions, interests, relationships, emotions , etc. I am obsessed with finding TRUE happiness. I want to be the happiest person that I can be. To do that I know that I need to avoid the extremes in things; so, in everything I do and say I try to ask myself the question, "Where's the balance?" Going along with that, I love the quote that was recently shown to me: CELEBRATE WHAT’S RIGHT WITH THE WORLD. Why shouldn't I? There is too much good to complain about the bad. My mum and dad are my heroes and always will be. My family means everything to me. I believe life is a great and precious thing. and.... I have a pet roo named Kanga.

Why I am a Mormon

It's true, I was born into the church... I want to say something that has meant a lot to me: Just because I was born in this church does not mean and will never mean that this is why I have stayed a member. This is MY choice and will always and forever be MY choice. Learning takes time, and over time I grew to know that the path I had chosen was right for me-the path to follow Christ and strive to live more like Him. I was having good feelings when I was doing right. These feelings were undescribeable. By a very small and simple way I came to know that I was a son of God. This is a precious truth that I will forever hang onto. A lot of voices compete for my attention in this world. The voice that I know I need to hear is that of the Saviour’s. It takes much effort to do my best and to live to my fullest potential. It’s not always easy to do what you know is right in a world that will quickly tell you that you’re in the wrong. Blessings come when we follow the voice to whom we should give praise. His is not a voice of loudness, but a very small voice saying, “come follow me.” It's true, it's ALL true...so what else matters?

How I live my faith

Right now I have chosen to be a full-time missionary or representative for Jesus Christ. My job is to teach people about God and in His son Jesus Christ and to help people realize that 1) They both are real 2) They both love us and 3)They both want us to return to them. This has been an amazing blessing for me because I have come to realize that no matter who we are and what kind of background we have, we are ALL sons and daughters of a kind and loving Heavenly Father. As a missionary I try to devote all my time and effort solely concentrated on the Lord and His teachings. Sometimes this can be a seriously difficult thing for me because I have tons of weaknesses. But, I know that when I am trying my best that Jesus Christ provides the rest.
