Hi I'm Lindsey

I love my family, I love to dance, and I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I have two brothers, two sisters, and two parents. My family plays a really big part in my life. I'm the oldest child and a military brat! Needless to say, I moved around a lot. I love to dance and have done everything except clogging and tap dancing. I love running and weight lifting and am studying to be an Athletic Trainer at college. I hope to later become a PTA (Physical Therapist Assistant) and earn a degree in Massage Therapy. I'm obsessed with the human body and think injuries are the coolest! I've been in physical therapy for years, broken my back, toes, fingers, can pop every joint in my body, and have torn more muscles than I can count! I'm a very happy person, not because I haven't been through difficult things, but because I'm learning from those experiences. I don't have a favorite color (because I like them all), have had fish and a dog for pets, and am currently preparing to serve a mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace I have found. Even though I was baptized when I was 8 like most members, I, too, had to learn for myself the gospel was true. I'm constantly trying to improve and be more like my Heavenly Father. This gospel gives me all the tools I need to be able to do that! I love my family more than anything and the gospel of Jesus Christ tells me how I can be with them forever, not just til I die. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he restored the church to the way Christ once had it. I know Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today and that he's been called of God to lead and direct us and to prepare us for the time when the Savior returns. I know I can be ready for Him if I do the things He asks in the scriptures. I don't have to be perfect because Jesus is and He died so that I may live and if I try my best to do what's right, I can be saved by His grace. Heavenly Father and His Son live. They love me, and they love you, too. God has and continues to answer my prayers and will answer yours if you ask sincerely!

How I live my faith

I've had many opportunities to serve in my church. I have been a leader in my age group since I was 12, have taught 4-5 year-olds in Sunday School, am assigned to visit and take care of specific women in my church, have organized numerous events for people in my age group, and have assisted in helping others with their genealogy. I'm also preparing to serve a mission. These opportunities to serve and get to better know others has been such a blessing in my life and so FUN! I have learned so much from others and from the experiences and look forward to being able to continue doing so.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Members of the church are not required to serve missions but it's strongly encouraged. Males become able to go when 18, females when 19, and many couples serve as senior citizens. It is strictly voluntary and missionaries aren't paid. I will be serving a mission in Montana because I love the Lord and His children. I know that the gospel is true and want to bring others to remember who they are, where they came from, and who they can become. Because of the Savior, we can be like God and be with Him and our families forever. I've been working really hard to prepare myself for this opportunity! It is a privilege and blessing to be able to give 18 months of my life to the Lord and share my knowledge with my brothers and sisters! Show more Show less
