Hi I'm Fletcher

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. I play soccer for a college in Salt Lake City. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a soccer player who enjoys playing other sports on the side. I've been playing soccer since I was four years old and it has been a huge part of my life. I have been playing with the same teammates on this team since I was 7 or 8 years old and have built friendships to last a lifetime. I find joy in doing sports and other things that keep me active with the people that I care about most. Everytime someone I know asks me to go do something outside and active, I try my best to take these opportunities to stay fit and gain experiences. I also love spending time with my family and friends as often as possible. I am the middle child of three and have two parents that love and support me. My family and I try to do things together as often as possible in order to keep us together and I love them very much. I am also currently a student in college who is currently undecided in what field to go into. But at this point, i think I will go into the audiology or speech pathology field. I want to be able to help people with being able to speak and hear properly which my mom tells me I'm pretty good at. I guess I'll take my mom's advice because mothers know best. All in all, I am just a regular guy who likes to do fun things with the people I care about most while also living a life that I can look back on and be proud of.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love how this gospel makes me feel. Every time I do something that I know is right, it uplifts me and gives me the strength I need to push forward in my life. I love all of the things that this church stands for and it makes me a better person. It makes me truly happy and I do not know where I would be without it. My life has been greatly benefitted by this gospel. I chose this gospel because it led me to happiness. I know that this church is true and I know that everything that we believe in is true. This gospel has provided me with skills and morals that I think are vital to our success in this life as well as the next. I went on a church sponsored trip while I was in high school, thinking that it was not going to be fun. As the week progressed, I found myself becoming happier and learning so much about this gospel. I felt the spirit so strongly and it has stayed with me ever since. Every time I think about this trip, I know that going on it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It makes me realize how great this gospel is. I know that following this gospel is the way to pure happiness and is necessary to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith restored this church to the Earth and that, if we live this gospel, we can gain eternal life and eternal happiness and I know beyond a surety of a doubt that this is true. This is why I'm Mormon.

How I live my faith

In my life, I think I have had a good experiences. I think that serving others is a great way to live our faith. I find myself serving others that are not members as well as people in our church. I think that the best way to teach others is to live the teachings of the gospel and have people learn about it. In my high school years, there were very few LDS members in my school. I would say a max of 10 people. I found myself answering questions all the time about why we believe and do certain things. I think that these questions and interactions with people of other faiths have helped people learn about who we are and what we believe. I think it opens the minds of other individuals and allows them to understand our faith. Also, I try to serve the people in my own ward as much as I can. I have had friends who are members that were struggling with certain things in their lives and I try to be there and support them in any way that is needed. I also try to help anyone that asks or needs it. I remember going to an older woman's house in my ward and doing yardwork for her and I just remember how grateful she was to have us there helping her and it made a significant impact and is what I try to do in my everyday life. I have had some callings in the ward, big and small. Each I have found is vital in their own way. I have been a leader over a group of individuals and also as a conductor for the music during sacrament meeting. I think that both require a commitment and a willingsness to serve and each calling has an importance in the church. Each calling has different responsibilities then another and it is important to learn and develop skills in all fields to know how to interact with others. Every calling that I have had has given me skills I will use when interacting with people and teach me new ways to live the gospel standards. My faith is conveyed through my actions as well as through my service to others.
