Hi I'm Cory Farnsworth

I was born and raised in Utah. I ranch/farm, ride horses, hunt, fish, and hike. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to hike, hunt, trap, ride horses, do ranch work (sheer sheep, brand cows, fix fences, incubate eggs, etc.), work with wood, photograph, I play the trumpet and I love to live. I love Fall and Spring and Summer and Winter. I graduated from Grand County High School in 2013 and served a 2 year mission in South Carolina. I have a family, I am the oldest of 5 kids. I love my mother and my father and love to serve and work along side of them. My dad is a full time rancher, and Taxidermist, my mom is the best stay at home mom I could ask for. I have great friends who are either going to college right now or are on missions. I plan to attend SUU and get a bachelors degree in Agriculture Science and Industry with Range management emphasis (spring 2016). Sometime during then I want to get married in the Temple and have a family. I want to live my life how Jesus wants me to and when my time is come, I want to die with my boots on.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the gospel. I have ancestors on both sides that sacrificed much for the Lord. Alot of my ancestors crossed the plains in wagons or on foot or horse. They helped settle Utah and have been strong in the church. My parents love me and taught me God's plan. I always knew that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true, that God loves us, that Jesus Christ died for us, that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that we have a true prophet today. I got the oppertunity to work on our ranch for a few summers. Sometimes I stayed by myself. Something would always go wrong. Bears and coyotes got into the livestock, the ditch started leaking, giant thunderstorms, not enough water, the equipment wont work, etc. I learned to rely on Prayer. I prayed to my Heavenly Father and my prayers were always answered or I was comforted, and I was always safe. Most of all I learned for myself, through prayer, and the Book of Mormon that the above is true, and that God and Jesus Christ will always be there for me. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I know that our prayers are answered. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Heavenly Father loves us. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for us, that by him we can return to heaven. I know that our families can be together again. I know that Thomas S. Monson is our true prophet today. In the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN!

How I live my faith

I don't swear. I try not to make fun of people, but try to help them feel worth something. I try to represent Jesus Christ and do as he has asked us and shown us. I served a two year mission in South Carolina. It has helped me be who Christ wants me to be more than anything else could. I try to make home a happy place and fulfill my callings that I've been given. I try to be a good example to my siblings and a blessing to my parents. I follow the words of the prophet and my parents. I respect Christ's creations and use the land and our resources wisely. I am patriotic to God's land, rules and Constitution. I read the Book of Mormon almost every day and have for 9 years now. I make good friends and help strengthen their faith and self worth. I try to stay positive and try to help people laugh and stay happy. I remember everything Christ has done for me and my family.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Cory Farnsworth
I payed for my mission by my own earnings. I raised lambs and sheep and worked on our farm my whole life (really hard work). All my lifes savings are consecrated to serving the Lord now. I did this only beacuse I know through the power of the Holy Ghost that Christ's church is restored. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Cory Farnsworth
Jesus Christ loves us. His gospel blesses families, we are part of our Heavenly Fathers family. God always sends prophets such as Moses or Abraham to teach us the way to return to live with our Heavenly Father. They have direct communication with God, they guide his people, write scripture, hold the priesthood, (authority from Christ to baptize and establish Christ's church). When Christ came to the earth, he established his gospel and gave apostles like Peter James and John the priesthood. Christ suffered for the sins and pains of us all and gave his life for us. If we have faith in him, repent, are baptized, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end (or keep his commandments for our lives), we will return to live with our Heavenly Father again. Christ left the church in the hands of his apostles who held his authority, but the apostles were killed and the priesthood was lost, Christ's church was no longer on the earth. Prophets taught that there would be a famine of hearing the words of the Lord. Christ needed to call another prophet on the earth so we can be baptized by someone who holds His authority. God and Christ appeared to a young man named Joseph Smith who was searching for truth in 1820 and called him to be the prophet. God sent Peter James and John to restore that same authority to the earth. We can now be baptized by someone who holds Christ's authority. We can know this is true by reading the Book of Mormon and praying to know it is true. Show more Show less
