Hi I'm Sarah

I'm from Washington. College student. Language and music lover.

About Me

Hey there! I'm 22 years old and I attend Brigham Young University. I'm just your normal college student. I stay up too late watching Netflix and I read a lot of Harry Potter. I'm all about music, listening to it at least. I'm not very good at making it. I love to hang out with my friends. I'm a feminist. I'm majoring in linguistics. I love the arts and the humanities. My favorite food is fettuccine alfredo but I also am a sucker for Chinese food. I like to run but I'm pretty bad at it. It's a work in progress. Maybe one day I'll be able to run a marathon. We'll see.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that it's true! I did what every person has to do - I prayed to ask my Heavenly Father if all that I had been taught was the truth. I received my own, personal answer. My testimony has only grown stronger through many challenges and trials. I've seen the blessings of this gospel in my own life and the lives of many others. I know without a doubt that this is Christ's church upon the Earth today!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing little things every day! I work to get closer to my Heavenly Father by reading my scriptures, praying, attending church, serving others, and going to the temple. I served an 18 month mission in Colorado, where I learned to speak Spanish and love unconditionally. I have seen miracles and I see them every day. I want to become like Jesus Christ. He's my Best Friend, my Role Model, my Brother, and I love Him. So I do all I can to follow His perfect example by loving others and living His commandments.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Sarah
No! The Church has an extensive welfare and charity program, and much of what is done through that is done to help people who are not Mormon. The church has donated over $1 billion in cash and material assistance to people in over 150 countries since it started keeping track in 1985. These countries are in need of humanitarian aid after disasters, or are poverty-stricken and need help to build a better life. Also, the purpose of Mormon missionaries (there are more than 55,000 serving around the world right now!) is to serve those who are not members and to bring them closer to Christ through that service.
