Hi I'm Matthew

I grew up in a small town in Mississippi, USA. I love sports and I love hanging out with my friends! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey, My name is Matthew! I am the youngest in my family of 10. I love playing all kinds of sports but basketball is my favorite! I love spending time with others and being able to share the gospel whenever the chance is given. I am currently not in college right now because I am working towards serving a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this church and this gospel is true. Knowing and believing are different things. Simliar but different. See I believed this church and gospel were true but I didn't know for myself. Before I knew this gospel was true I was making bad and just wrong decisions. I won't go in detail but lets just say my parents didn't do the stuff I was doing so why should I? Anyways I was going to serve a mission and I actually made it to the Missionary Training Center(MTC) out in Provo, Utah. I should not have been there because of my past and I found out immediately that I can't do this. Certain events happen in my one week stay there before I came home that changed my life. I found out that everything I was doing was completely and utterly wrong. Jesus Christ didn't do the things I was doing why was I doing them? My parents didn't do them. I can't do this missionary work doing the wrong things. So I had a change of heart. I read the Book of Mormon for once. Yes that was the first time I read it. I grew a knowledge of my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost and I gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I knew they were real and true. I know they live and exist though we can't see them we rather feel in our hearts that they love us and they are wanting us to succeed but making wrong decisions won't help me or anyone succeed. I learned the difference between believeing and knowing. I know this gospel is true and Joseph Smith was and is a prophet of God. The Book of Mormon is true. Our God, Heavenly Father loves us but he can't help us unless we put our faith in him and his son Jesus Christ. I don't know where I would be if I didn't know that. I was walking down the wrong path and now I've realized my worth and my purpose and I am happy everyday now. Happier than I ever imagined possible. I don't just believe, I also know!

How I live my faith

I live my faith day after day not just once or twice a week. I am a teacher for my Sunday School class on Sundays. I try daily to be the person God knows I can be by helping others when they need a hand and being of service to others to those i love that are close to me and those that I don't even know.

What is being a Mormon like?

Matthew
Being a Mormon is like enjoying everything that comes your way and being happy. Through the hard times and when things seem to hit a wall, you are still happy because you know that this is not the end and that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father will aid you and not leave you comfortless. There is a plan for all of us and by obeying Gods commands we further our knowledge of that plan. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Matthew
To increase your faith in the Savior, Jesus Christ you show obedience to his commandments. Read and study the scriptures and have questions before you read. Such as faith in Christ and increasing that faith. Search them and ask for help in prayer on how you can increase that faith. If you have a sincere desire to learn you will be taught.
