Hi I'm John Babcock
I grew up in Utah. I have been called to serve an LDS mission in San Jose California. I'm a mormon.
About Me
I like to read popular books like Hunger Games and Harry Potter. I enjoy acting. I have been in several school plays in junior high and high school. I'm on the debate team. I am just finishing High School and am planning on going on an LDS mission. After my mission I am going to attend Utah State University. I am an Eagle Scout. I have also earned my Denali and Ranger awards.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born and raised in the church. My parents are stalwart members. I was taught the principles of the gospel primarily in the home. I continue to follow the gospel because I know of its truthfulness. I have read the Book of Mormon and I know it's true. Every Sunday I go to church and I am spiritually uplifted by what people have said in the meeting. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and through him this church was restored. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I am proud to be a Mormon.
How I live my faith
I am a priest in my ward and I am second assistant to the bishop. Which means I help organize the activities that the boys my age are involved in. For example I just planned a service project where all the boys my age are going to help elderly families in my neighborhood by taking care of their yard for them. I visit my friends and neighbors with my dad and teach them gospel lessons. I'm involved in the scouting program. I always try to obey the scout law and help my fellow scouts with whatever they need.
