Hi I'm Tara Hoellein

Hi!!! I was born and raised in Layton Utah and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am going to college to become a Music Education Major and love the power of music! I have traveled to various places because of music and have been so blessed with great instructors and friends. I love doing anything related to the Arts and love the great outdoors as well! I also love to read. Sometimes my mom has to ban me from reading because I can read all day and not get anything done around the house. :) I love learning, making memories, laughing so hard that I cry and spending time with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, my parents would take us to church and tell us how important this Gospel was to them. They told us that we could rely on their testimonies as we grew. But as time went on and I got older, I wanted to know for myself why my parents regarded this church as such an amazing thing. So I read the Book of Mormon and did as instructed in Moroni 10:4 and that was to ask of God. I didn't receive a strong confirmation but rather, a peace entered into my heart and I knew that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the true church. I still know this and know that Joseph Smith was a man called of God! I know that Christs church is again upon the earth and that it will not be taken away again. President Thomas S. Monson is a true and living prophet in these latter times and I know that this Church is true! I have felt it and seen it in my life as I continue to live each day to the fullest. Christ lives!! What a wonderful thing it is to know and feel the overwhelming peace that this Gospel brings. Life is not without its challenges and relying on the Gospel of Christ can be difficult at times. But I know that as we follow our Loving Heavenly Fathers commands and follow the Prophet, through our times of hardship and sorrow, we will feel loved and at peace. 2 Nephi 2:11 I will follow and strive to do all that the Lord asks me to do! I want to be a daughter that He will smile down upon and I will serve and believe even when times are rough and life seems to throw countless trials my way. I know the Book of Mormon is true! I found out for myself and will be forever grateful that I did.

How I live my faith

By being active in my callings. I was the choir director in my ward and really enjoyed getting together after church with a bunch of friends and singing music that really touched my heart. Granted we did laugh a lot but we also got to know each other and care about the songs we were singing. Some days there would only be around five people who would show up to practice. But once it was time to perform, there were always people who would walk up and sing with us and they may have never been to one practice. They did it because they wanted to and I think to also help me in numbers and with sharing our message through our songs.

What is faith?

Tara Hoellein
Faith is to "hope for things which are not seen, which are true" (see Book of Mormon, Alma 32:21 & Hebrews 11:1. "Sometimes you know things in your heart that you don't need to know in your head."-Movie: Emma Smith Faith is an action. When you have Faith you believe, trust, have confidence and put yourself in Gods hands. Faith is not something that comes in grand packages. But by small and simple things and learning more of Christ and hearing the testimonies of others, your Faith will grow to new heights just as a seed grows into a big oak tree. Strong Faith must be nourished and tested at times, but as you grow and are obedient to Gods Commandments, study and have the Desire to believe in Christ, your small amount of Faith will grow. What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Tara Hoellein
A testimony is a spiritual witness given by the Holy Ghost. A testimony is the knowledge that we know that our Heavenly Father lives and loves us; that Jesus is the Christ; that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God who restored Christ's church to the earth; that we have a true and living Prophet on the earth today. Testimonies are formed through the knowledge you gain as you learn more about Jesus Christ and as you read the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
