Hi I'm Jessica Blanch

I am a Mormon :)

About Me

I am currently a full-time student and I work a part time job. I hope to end up in the dental field when I finish school. I was raised in beautiful San Diego and I have a love for the ocean! I am not a great surfer however, I LOVE to boogie board. I like to spend my free time playing piano, guitar, and flute or just curling up in bed and reading a good book. I love trying new foods and currently my favorite is chicken tiki masala with naan bread and mango lasse! (I hope thats how it is spelled) I also love sushi but every now and again you just have to have a good hamburger from in n out!

Why I am a Mormon

My entire life I was raised as a Mormon and I did not start questioning the doctrine until a couple years ago when I noticed I felt lost as a person and was forced to constantly defend my faith. I decided I wanted to know for myself and the only way I could know is if I tried the challange investigators are given. That is to read the Book of Mormon and to pray. Getting into this habit was very difficult I constantly kept starting over because I found that weeks would pass I had not read. But as I kept trying my answer came "line upon line" and "precept upon precept" fixing mistake after mistake. As I started to have faith in the scriptures and Christ my prayers became more sincere. I feel as though my testimony had the most progress when my heart was softened and I prayed earnestly. I saw miracles in my everyday life and found a new strength to make it through the day. When tragedy hit and my heart was broken I had the comfort and trust that the Lord new what I was going through and that there is a purpose. I saw blessings unfold through this faith. There is point where you know in your heart that the scriptures and teachings of the gospel are true. Mine came gradually but now that I know I can not deny what is true in my heart.

How I live my faith

As cliche as it sounds "Actions speak louder than words". I try to live everyday better than the day before. I try to fufill my chuch callings by focusing on serving others. I make mistakes and have challanges just like everyone else, but I know I can repent and change to be a better person. I find everyday to be an opportunity to progress and I find that usually means taking two steps forward and one step back. But I know with faith I can accomplish anything.
