Hi I'm Patrick

I am an IT project manager and have a 16 year old son with autism. I am a mormon

About Me

I am married with two sons and two daughters and we live in Dublin, Ireland. Our eldest son is on the autistic spectrum. His strong character and wacky sense of humour have shaped our family and helped me learn to relax and accept things as they are.

Why I am a Mormon

In the musical "Les Miserables", Jean Valjean says "My soul belongs to God, I know I made that bargain long ago He gave me hope when hope was gone He gave me strength to journey on!" As a Mormon I made a bargain with God when I was baptised. Through his Son Jesus Christ he gives me the strength to journey on. That strength has been very real to me during good and bad times. I know God loves me.

How I live my faith

The economy here in Ireland is in particularly bad shape, so I am grateful to have a solid job and to be able to support my family. Through the church I help others prepare job applications, write CVs/resumes, and get ready for interviews. I love seeing people's persistence rewarded with a job offer. I have received a lot of practical help from church friends over the years as well as emotional and spiritual support, so I want to give something back. Being a Mormon is all about volunteering and helping each other.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
