Hi I'm Mikayla Pearson

I'm a daughter and a sister. I'm a student. I'm a future missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born and raised in a place referred to as the High Desert in Southern California. I've never moved from my house once... until I left last August to attend Brigham Young University. I'm the youngest and only girl of three; also, the only active church member of the three. I am studying Communication Disorders in hopes to become a Speech Pathologist. I love acting, playing guitar, and singing. Come July 10th, I will be in the MTC as a missionary preparing to serve the people of Federal Way Washington.

Why I am a Mormon

Yes, it's true I was "born into" this religion; however, all those who are born into parents who raise, or somewhat raise, them to attend church come to a point in life where they choose to experience their own conversion to, or diversion from, the gospel takes. It can happen in an instant or it can happen over a stretched out period of time. There are moments of conversion in my life, but I really think it is a life-long process. To me, this gospel just makes sense. It answers all the questions that are important in this life. It brings me hope and true happiness. I think to myself, there MUST be a truth in this world. Christ came upon this earth and surely He preached and lived this truth. Why should it be any different today than from what He taught in times of old? Joseph Smith translated The Book of Mormon through the help of God so that we could come to know Christ even more. To know of His life and His gift of Atonement and Ressurection to us all. Forgiveness, hope, and strength is endlessly promised to us if we repent and that is something I find beautiful. God knew we would make mistakes, so He sent His Son to help us. It is only through Christ that we can gain ultimate happiness. I am Mormon because I know Jesus Christ is my Savior.

How I live my faith

I suppose I could elaborate this a bit more, but I'm going to keep it simple. I live my faith by being ready to serve in any way I can.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mikayla Pearson
When people ask me if I am a Christian, I answer truthfully "Yes, I am a Christian." Everything about this gospel revolves around the Savior of all mankind, Jesus Christ. The name of the church itself is The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. (I only capitalized the letters to emphasize the importance.) This church is literally Christ's church. It contains the gospel that He lived and shared during his life on earth. His example is the supreme example that each of the members of this church strive to become like. All of the gospel revolves around the fact that Christ is who He is, did what He did, and continues to live. Show more Show less
