Hi I'm Hannah Nelson

Grew up in England, Swtizerland, and America. Oldest daughter of ten kids. Missionary in Argentina. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my freshman year at Brigham Young University and am now serving a full time mission in Argentina. I am the oldest daughter of 9 kids soon to be 10! Its a crazy exciting life. My family is originally from Utah, but because of my father's job we moved around a lot. I was born In England and lived there for 7 years. Then spent a short sweet 14 months in Switzerland right outside of Geneva. My family moved back to the United States to Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania for 4 years. Then we decided to move back home to Utah to be close to family and friends. Here I have embraced my hobbies and talents of tennis, dance, piano, reading, hanging with my friends, and being in the beautiful outdoors. The one thing that anyone should know about me, is my love in spending time with my family. There's a lot of us, but they are my best friends and I wouldn't trade that for the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this gospel is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. There have been many instances in my life that have brought me to this knowledge. I am a Mormon because it brings me joy. A happiness that will last forever rather than a short lived happiness. Being a Mormon brings me more liberty and freedom because it has helped me learn heavenly fathers love for me as his daughter. I have ever growing testimony of this gospel and cannot wait to learn more.

How I live my faith

I am 19 years old and I have been called to serve a mission in Bahia Blanca, Argentina! With the age change I was able to put my papers in immediately. I will be serving for 18 months from May 2013 to November 2014. I couldn't be happier to serve my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. This gospel has brought more joy to my life than anything else and I cannot wait to be a missionary and help bring it to others.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Hannah Nelson
As a young woman I have been protected by my decision to be modest. I am not only modest because I feel my body is sacred, but I love that people treat me with respect because I am modest. My mother has been such an inspiration in my life because she has taught me this through her example. When I was a younger teenager and would sometimes test the principle of being modest, she would explain to me that however I dress is how people view me. This is when I fell in love with the word, "classy". Dressing modest always looks classy and there is nothing about dressing inmodest that looks classy. It is more attractive to see someone dressed classy and modest because than your focus goes onto the person not the outfit. I am so grateful to have learned this at a young age because of my wonderful mother. I have defintely seen its effects by the reactions when I get when meeting people because their eyes go straight to mine. I love it! Show more Show less
