Hi I'm Dillon Ostlund
Song Lyric Connoisseur, Semi-Professional Ice Cream Taster, and a Mormon
About Me
Name's Dillon, but right now it's Elder Ostlund of the Texas Fort Worth Mission. I'm a brother, 2nd in age but 1st in a foot-race (maybe), Son to 2 loving parents here and 1 Super Awesome Father up there. I got the wiggles, dancing be my thing. I like music. Listening to it, playing it. I hope to one day speak 5 languages (we're at 2 so far!). I like working hard, and sleeping harder. Yesterday was the worst I'm ever going to be. My favorite hobbies include making a fool of myself, playing guitar, and spending a grand ol' time with mis amigos. I call West Jordan home when I'm not a missionary. I try to be a good person. I've got my bucket list in my back pocket (right now it's in my front pocket) at all times. Life is what you make it and I make it awesome. "I've been talking to God for so long, and if you look at my life, I guess He's talking back."
Why I am a Mormon
I am Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon, I have prayed about it to receive my answer, and I have had that confirming witness that I know that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God. It is another testament of Jesus Christ, and does nothing but testify of Him. I am a Mormon because every day the teachings of this Gospel help me to do better, to work harder, to become more like my Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because it's the only logical thing to do.
How I live my faith
Living my faith is something that is very important to me. I don't want to be a hypocrite, because even Jesus said not-so-nice things about them, so I live my faith by acting upon it. God will put people in our path, opportunities and all those "coincidences" so that we may choose to live up to our abilities. My favorite hymn in the LDS church is "Have I done any good in the World today?" because it really makes you think, "Have I honored the name of my family today? Of our Savior?". I want to continue to live my faith throughout my life because I have seen blessings come because of it, and I know that it is true.
