Hi I'm Gabby

I'm a small town, farm-girl from Idaho. I'm serving in the Arizona, Phoenix Mission. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm the oldest of 4 siblings, and the first in my family to serve a mission. I'm only the second person out of all of my extended family as well to have ever served a mission. Along with striving to be a life-long disciple of Jesus Christ, I also love spending time with my family, even if all we're doing is hanging out at home together. In my spare time I enjoy sports such as basketball, volleyball, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and running. I love biking and hiking, camping, and anything that gets me in the mountains! I also love reading, photography, writing, and anything else that gets the creative gears in my brain working! I attended the LDS Business College for 2 semesters before leaving on my mission, and while I was there I studied photography.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, and baptized when I was 11 years old. Even though I grew up in the church, I didn't really start gaining a testimony for myself until I was about 16. It was around that time that I started applying the Atonement of Jesus Christ in my life. Before that I was a really sad and angry kid, and I had pushed the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the very back of my life. But because of the love that Heavenly Father has for me as His daughter, and because of His hand in my life even when I didn't recognize it, I had certain events happen in my life that made me understand how much I had been missing. As I exercised faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, and turned my heart to God through repentence, my heart was healed, and my soul felt such peace and joy that I can't even begin to describe it! The change within me was drastic and obvious, and I was happier and more full of hope and love for others. I know that as I continue to try my best and live the way that Christ lived, my life will be whole. Now that the Gospel of Jesus Christ (the very same Gospel that He established during His earthly ministry), is at the center of my life, I know that although I'm not perfect, as long as my heart is softened and willing, Heavenly Father will continue to mold me into the very best "me" that I can be.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving an 18 month-long mission in Phoenix, Arizona. As a missionary, every day is focused on how my companion and I can help bring others closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ. We love the people we teach; their heartaches are our heartaches, and as we watch the transformation in their lives as they choose to accept and follow the teachings of Christ, their joy is our joy. I recognize that every soul is precious, and because of that, I continually seek the Lord's help in bringing our brothers and sisters back to Him.
