Hi I'm Mary Woodruff

I love jams (musical and fruity). I LOVE to laugh! And, I be a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a little farming community. I grew up as the only LDS member in my school besides my siblings. I seriously LOVE my family. We only laugh ... all the time! They help me to see the good God has given me. I just feel so blessed! Not only with the gospel but all the other little things in like like chocolate, possums, froyo, The Book of Mormon, good Ohio soil, music, thrift stores, prophets etc. I'm so stinkin' blessed! I have just finished my first year at Brigham Young University with a major in Special Education! I have been recently called as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am assigned to labor in the Carlsbad California Mission speaking in the lovely language of Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I have seen how the gospel of Jesus Christ has changed my life. Both of my parents are converts to the church. From the steps of my parents I have seen what a blessed life I have been able to live thanks to the gospel. I know for myself that this is the true gospel because I have lived it and prayed for a conformation from the spirit. There was a time where I was very sick. I became upset with all that was being taken from me. I got to the point where I wasn't happy. It was at that point that I realized I needed to do something so I looked for ways to help others. I started helping the special needs kids in my school and lost myself serving these children of our Heavenly Father. I no longer was focused on how much was going wrong in my life, but rather, looked forward to the time I would be in that class room with some of my best friends. I love that, because I am a Mormon, I understand the nature of my Father and His Son. Through the atonement, and sacrifice, of His beloved Son I will one day be with Him. Jesus does not just know the feeling of being alone, but He knows when I felt like the only one in a room. He does not just know the general feeling of pain, he knows how I felt when I broke my arm. He does not know the general feeling of disappointment, but knows how I felt when I failed a test. The atonement is a personal gift to me, and the world. I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ just makes me flat out happy!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live a life the Savior would be proud of. I find that remembering the basics, such as read the scriptures, praying, going to church activities, paying tithing, and fasting help me live my faith every day. I also live my faith by being active in service. While in High School, I tutored special education students during my study halls. And I would also tutor students after school. Within the church I have served as a ward pianist. I get to pick out appropriate Hymns and songs that relate to topic.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Mary Woodruff
When I look outside and see the world, I know there is a Heavenly Father who loves me. There is no way something this beautiful could have just been thrown together. The flowers, grass, creeks, mountains, and animals help me see there is a God. Blessings and tender mercies through out the day also aid in my belief that there is a God. Whether it is "accidentally" running into someone or "by chance" having a thought to check my back pack before heading to class to find I had forgotten to grab a paper off my printer. I know there is a God, and He loves and knows me individually. Show more Show less
