Hi I'm Asenath Light

I have lived in Idaho, Arizona then Alaska. My family means everything to me. I love sports, crafts, and I am a Mormon!!

About Me

I love to play sports. Mostly basketball and volleyball, but I love to try all and be very active. I like to try new things and be a bit daring. I love to do crafts and cosmetology things(I know its very girly, but it's awesome)! I have gone to 5 semesters of college so far, and have an Associates in General Studies and I want to continue on after with nursing in the delivery room! I love my family, they are my life. They are a huge example to me and I strive to be like them, as well as be an example to others. I would say that I am usually a "kind of loud", but "kind of reserved" person when you first meet me, but then I come out as a very loud bubbly person when you really know me. And I love life. It is fun and we all have so much to live for and do! I love to meet new people and eat food especially Nutella! :) In my very large, but awesome family, I have 6 brothers and 1 sister. I am the 5th child of 8! My mother was voted "Mother of the Year" for Alaska a few years ago and let me tell you...she is the best mother ever! My father is my greatest example! He has such strong faith and I will always try to be like him.. He is paralyzed and has been for about 7 years now. He was in a downhill biking accident and cannot use his legs YET! He has been promised through Priesthood blessings that he will one day walk again! He pushes forward with all his trust in the Lord and that's what we all have to do. Life is hard and we all have trials, but through Christ all is possible!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love this church and this gospel. I know that it is the one and only true church here on the Earth. Without it I would be lost and wandering. I know that I have a Heavenly Father and that he loves me for me! He loves each and every one of us. He even loved us so much to send his son to suffer and die for us. Christ is our savior and he is Real, and will return to us again soon. And we will also have the great opportunity to return and live with him and our Heavenly Father in Heaven if we are righteous and stay worthy at all times. I love this gospel and know it’s true without a doubt, I have come to this knowledge for myself and not for others. We can all come to know through the Holy Spirit, which whispers to our heart and mind when something is true! I know that the Book of Mormon may be new and hard to understand, but it is also a testament of Christ along with the bible. It is true and was lost for a long time, but the Lord did guide Joseph Smith to it when he was young, and through the Lord, he did in fact translate it, so that we can use it today. I know that this is all true and I will stand up for it and try to spread the truth because I know it helps us and guides us! Through this gospel we can be saved and have eternal families! I love my family. I love the Lord and his son Jesus Christ! I know this all to be true, and I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I like to do whatever I can, whenever I can. I loved in high school and some of college, working with the Special Olympics. I was a volunteer that helps the kids do crafts and activities. I love it! I also did a lot of things for the church. I participated in many callings growing up. When I was 12-17 in our young women’s program I was in the presidency multiple times. I helped plan and prepare activities for all the youth and was a leader in this. I also continued in many callings even in college and the summers home. In school I was a indexer for the temple(which I just helped with records and so on). I was also on the activities committee along with being a family Home evening Coordinator. I have been in charge of the church building, such as cleaning it and more. One summer I taught the primary children (4 yr old's)!.. And that was an amazing calling! It was so fun to work with the little children. I also have been a visiting teacher for a long time, and with this I tried my best to go and help all the ladies in my wards with everything they needed, even if it was just chocolate or a hug. There are so many things we can do within this church and it may sound crazy, but it is amazing. I have been blessed so much by fulfilling my callings and helping others. It has kept me the happy, bubbly, outgoing person I am today. I love it and will continue to do my callings to the fullest. I live my faith by being as Christ-like as I can be.. and that's all that he asks of us! :)

What is the Book of Mormon?

Asenath Light
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is true like as the Bible. But for me it is a personal comforter and a personal answerer to all my questions. When I read it comforts me and put my mind at ease, even when I am stressed or busy. It answers my questions. I may be wondering about something or needing to be helped in someway, and I always find my answers in the Book of Mormon! I love it and I know it's true, and I encourage everyone,(and I mean everyone) to read it! Show more Show less
