Hi I'm Josh Peterson

I grew up in Arizona. I love sports and being outdoors. I will be a missionary in the Dominican Republic. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attended BYU last year as a freshman and had a blast! I love biking, hiking, rock climbing, rappelling, wake boarding, skiing, and anything else outdoors. I also play the piano, like singing in choirs and for church, and enjoy learning in school. I aspire to become a doctor just like my dad. I love doing things with my family, especially wrestling with my little brothers. I will soon be serving a full time mission in the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, however I really do love it and choose to be a part of it on my own. I love everything that is taught and the great community of people working together. I gained a testimony for myself of the truthfulness of this gospel and the Book of Mormon throughout my life, but it all really culminated on one night. Basically I was on a camp out and we all went off on our own for a night to read the scriptures and pray out in the woods before falling asleep in our little shelters. I read the book of Enos in the Book of Mormon and really felt the Spirit. Then my bishop, the leader of my ward, came and talked to me a bit, explaining to me that I don't need a huge life-changing experience to know that this church is true. I just have to look back on my life and see that the Lord has always had a hand in everything. I know that this gospel is true and that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father live. They love us more than we can ever imagine. I know that Joseph Smith restored this church to the earth and that President Monson is the living prophet on the earth today. I know that families are eternal and that the Lord does have a plan for us. I love this gospel and I am so glad it is a major part of my life.

How I live my faith

I am about to be living my faith every minute of every day. As a missionary I will teach people about the gospel and do my best to invite them to come unto Christ. I have loved my calling as a home teacher because it allows me to really develop good relationships with others in the church and helps me learn how to teach lessons. I've also served as a leader among the guys my age, organizing and coordinating activities and making sure everyone else felt welcome.
