Hi I'm Cecily

I grew up in Utah. I love making cards and watching Jane Austen movies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! My name is Cecily. I am the oldest child in my family, and when I am not away at school, I love spending time having "family movie nights" and cooking dinner for my family. Right now I am studying to be a teacher, and I love getting to volunteer at elementary schools, because I can spend time getting to know the students and also learn from the teacher. I hope that the things I learn will help me to be a better teacher, and to be a better Mom someday!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because when I read the scriptures, pray, and keep God's commandments, I feel joy! I know that God is the Father of my spirit, and that we are all his spirit children. I know that he loves me and every person who lives, has lived, or ever will live! I know that Jesus Christ suffered for our sins, died, and was resurrected, so that we too can be resurrected and live with God and with our families for eternity. I know that the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God, and were given to us because God loves us and wants us to know the truth. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been given to mankind throughout the ages, and that it was restored to the earth in the latter days by Joseph Smith, who was a prophet of God. I love my family, and I know that by keeping God's commandments I can be with them forever.

How I live my faith

I also live my faith by studying the Book of Mormon and praying every day-- both by myself and with my family. Right now I am preparing to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I am excited to get to serve other people and share my beliefs with them, because they bring me so much joy! I also live my faith by helping to plan activities for the women's organization in my church-- we have had a birthday party, a service activity, and a movie night. I get to visit three women every month-- we love visiting and sharing our beliefs with each other.

What is being a Mormon like?

Cecily
Being a Mormon helps me to find joy in life. My life is focused around the gospel of Jesus Christ and around my family. I spend a lot of time strengthening my relationships with my family, praying, going to church meetings, and studying the scriptures. Being a Mormon does not mean that you do not have hardships, however, we can find joy and happiness as we live the gospel of Jesus Christ, because we know that through Jesus Christ's Atonement and Heavenly Father's Plan of happiness we can have joy in this life, and live again with our families after we have died.
