Hi I'm Mindy

I was born and raised in Utah. I attended college in Virginia. I love to learn and I'm grateful for my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my first year of college in Virginia and I loved it! I enjoy learning about human development and sports medicine. I want to work in the medical field some day because I have a passion for helping others to be happy and healthy. In my spare time I like to play sports, water-ski, hike, and run. I enjoy spending time with my family and especially with my baby nephew. I play the viola, guitar, piano, and organ. I have the great opportunity to serve the Lord for 18 months on a mission in Arizona and I love to be a missionary!

Why I am a Mormon

I have wonderful parents. Of course they aren't perfect and my childhood wasn't perfect, but one thing they did give me was a solid foundation in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Both of them served missions when they were younger. Growing up, we consistently had family prayer, scripture study, family dinners, and family home evening. The way that they lived taught me to be honest, serve, go to church, and have God and family in highest priority. I had many trials during my life from a young age. Because my parents and teachers taught me about Jesus Christ, I always knew I could turn to Him for peace. I gained a testimony when I was nine years old. I had a strong childlike faith and though I didn't understand many things, I felt the Spirit strongly and knew that Heavenly Father heard my prayers and that all the things I was learning are true. Over the years, I have grown in my testimony and my desire to follow the Lord's commandments. Living the Gospel is awesome! Every day I feel that I am "mounted on wings of eagles," as I see wonderful blessings and miracles come about in my life. It's not that my life is easy, but when I feel strong in my faith I feel full of light. This light warms me, fills me, and gives me true peace. It helps me to see things as they really are. I know that things work out in my life as I continue to learn and grow in the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by doing the things that help me to stay close to Heavenly Father. I study the scriptures, live the moral standards, go to church on Sunday, and serve in my church calling. I ponder my spiritual impressions and pray to Heavenly Father multiple times a day. As part of my calling I visit two other members at least once a month. I share a spiritual thought with them, listen to their needs, and help them in any way I can. I also take turns giving talks and lessons in church. I look for opportunities to serve members of my congregation. I participate in organized service projects as well as random acts of kindness. Because of what I believe, I share my testimony with as many people as I can. I talk to people about the Church and share my beliefs with them. Because I want others to feel the peace and joy that I feel in my life I am serving a mission for 18 months. I love serving in the Church and living the Gospel! It has helped me be able to connect with others and feel like I'm part of my community. I have gained a love for the people I serve. My friends in the Church have become like family to me. Most of all, I have gained a greater witness of Jesus Christ as I do what He would do if He were here on the Earth. I find great peace, happiness, and strength as I serve in the Church.
